Minister Along calls for peace, cultural revival at Moatsü festival 
Mokokchung, May 1 (MExN): Nagaland Minister for Higher Education and Tourism Temjen Imna Along on Friday inaugurated the two-day Moatsü-cum-Mini Hornbill Festival at Longpayimsen village in Mokokchung district. Addressing the inaugural programme, Along said that as Moatsü is traditionally a festival for seeking blessings for a bountiful harvest, people should also pray for peace and prosperity in the land.
The minister expressed concern that the present generation is gradually losing the culture of hard work and urged people to reconnect with their roots and continue drawing strength from their traditions and cultural heritage. Appreciating the people of Longpayimsen village for organising the festival, Along said the celebration should mark a new beginning with a renewed vision for the people of Tsürangkong range.

NNC to observe 76th Naga Voluntary Plebiscite Day on May 16 
Kohima, May 1 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) will observe the 76th Naga Voluntary Plebiscite Day on May 16 at Peace Hall in Chedema.
In a statement, the organisation invited the public to participate in the programme and commemorate the historic occasion. It also requested all regions and regional councils to observe the day in their respective areas.

Unidentified body recovered in Dimapur
Dimapur, May 1 (MExN): Police have recovered the body of an unidentified man from beneath a flyover near an auto-rickshaw parking area in Dimapur, officials said.
According to police, information about the body was received on April 30 at around 11:45 am. A team rushed to the spot and found the body of a male, estimated to be between 35 and 40 years of age.
An inquest was conducted at the scene, following which the body was shifted to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for post-mortem examination and identification.
Police have requested relatives or acquaintances of the deceased to contact the Officer-in-Charge of East Police Station, Dimapur. (Mobile No. 7085055020)
