Nagaland stall display in Arabian Travel Market

Kohima, May 10 (MExN): The ongoing Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai finds Nagaland stall being prominently displayed at the India Pavilion. The ATM is held from May 9 up to 12 with the India Pavilion being inaugurated by Rupinder Brar, IRS, and Addl. Director-General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, stated a DIPR report. 
I Kitto Zhimomi, Commissioner & Secretary Tourism, and V Doulo, Additional Director Tourism, Government of Nagaland are participating at the ATM hard-selling Nagaland Tourism, especially the Hornbill Festival, Nagaland Off road, and the unique Naga way of life. 

Zunheboto: Farmer’s Producer Org coordination meeting held 

Zunheboto, May 10 (MExN): A coordination meeting with Farmer’s Producer Organizations (FPOs) and an awareness programme on entrepreneurship in agriculture were held at the FPO office in Zunheboto town. The awareness programme was organized by the Department of Agriculture, Zunheboto District, stated a DIPR report. 
FPO Chairman, Holuto Ayemi highlighted the importance of FPOs in marketing, and registration of businesses with MSME and gave insights on branding and packaging for value addition.  Agricultural Inspector, Kikato Zhimomi discussed the activities and action plan of the Department of Agriculture.  Priyanka Kumar from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship spoke about the benefits of FPOs in reducing production costs and logistical management, schemes available for FPOs and SHGs, and the potential of food processing units as an enterprise, and Iloka Yeptho from NSRLM also spoke.  The programme ended with a discussion with farmers on the entrepreneurial challenges faced by them and possible solutions.

Mon arms licence holders informed

Mon, May 10 (MExN): All arms license holders under Mon District have been informed that the National Database for Arms License (NDAL) Portal for uploading the details of the arms licence for the issue of Unique Identification Number (UIN) to all the Licence Holders has been re-opened till March 31. In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Mon, K Thavaseelan IAS has requested all arms licence holders who are yet to upload the details of the Arms Licence to the report to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner along with the arms licence (in original); two passport size photos; and birth certificate (photocopy). 

Nagaland State Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan release on May 20

Kohima, May 10 (MExN): The Nagaland State Biodiversity Board (NSBB) will be celebrating the International Day for Biological Diversity under the theme ‘Building a Shared Future for All Life’ on May 20 at RCEMPA Hall, Jotsoma, Kohima. 
During the function, the revised Nagaland State Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NSBSAP) document will be formally released followed by Technical session(s) on the NSBSAP and panel discussion under the theme ‘Transforming Nagaland Biodiversity Strategy Action Plan into Action.’ 
Representatives from the Rajya Sabha, Forest Minister, Forest Department, State Biodiversity Board of Nagaland and from neighboring States, representatives from the German Embassy, Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region, National Biodiversity Authority, Zoological Survey of India, Botanical Survey of India, Universities, and all the Organizations, Government Departments, Institutions and Biodiversity Management Committee (BMC) and other local bodies will be involved in the formulation of NSBSAP.
