NNC (Parent Body) extends support to Plebiscite Day

Dimapur, May 13 (MExN): The NNC (Parent Body), under the leadership of Yilow Humtsoe, Zhiongba Yimkhiung, and V. Nagi, has extended its full support to the May 16 celebration of the Naga National Plebiscite Day in Kohima. The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) is spearheading the celebration scheduled at the Nagaland Baptist Church Council’s Convention Hall, Kohima. “This is a significant effort by the FNR in bringing together the Naga people and the Naga National groups to celebrate the auspicious Day in a unified manner,” stated a press release from the NNC (Parent Body). “The NNC (Parent Body) looks forward to participating with our members from far and near as it will be a significant day for us all,” it said, urging for celebrating the National Day together with “honour and respect for our National Right and homeland in this way.” Welcoming and lauding the step taken by the FNR, the NNC (Parent Body) urged all Nagas to participate with gaiety and honour in full “support of the celebration together as our Democratic right of freedom.”

ACVA Wokha Unit issues directives

Wokha, May 13 (MExN): In view of its upcoming 10th Foundation Day celebration on May 17, the All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA) Wokha Unit in a letter written to the President, ANTA Wokha Unit Truck Union, Mini Truck, WDAU, Pickup Union and Bus Union, has directed all the sub-unit to submit the vehicles before 9:00 am at Local Ground Wokha.  The restricted period for any commercial vehicle travelling or plying within Wokha District is from 9:00 AM till 3:00 PM. “Hence, any commercial vehicle violating the order shall be panelized heavily,” ACVA Wokha Unit stated in a press release while requesting all to co-operate and ensure full support towards the association. Meanwhile, in connection to the ACVA Wokha Unit directives, ANTA Wokha Unit has directed all members to attend the foundation day programme on May 17 and calls for strict adherence to association's norms. “Failure to comply with this directive will be strictly dealt with,” Zuchobemo Humtsoe, Convenor, Disciplinary Action Committee cautioned in a press release. ANTA Wokha Unit further appealed the public and commuters to bear with the inconvenience.

ADC Phek notifies dog owners

Phek, May 13 (MExN): Additional Deputy Commissioner Phek, Ruopfukuotuo Noudi, NCS in an order has notified that several cases of dog bites by stray dogs have been reported in Phek town over the past several months has put a grave health risk for the general public due to possible infection of rabies. Therefore, all dog owners have been directed to ensure vaccination of dogs and to keep the dogs on leash in order to prevent them from straying in public places. The ADC also notified that any dog found roaming freely in the town shall be seized or shot at sight by the concerned competent authority.

ESM League Nagaland condemns

Dimapur, May 13 (MExN): The Ex-Servicemen (ESM) League Nagaland has condemned the alleged rape of a minor by her father at Samziuram village in Peren district. It condemned the act of “unimaginable magnitude committed” by the accused. “He has not only disgraced his clan and family, but also brought disrepute to the larger Ex-servicemen community. The act is an antithesis of the values that are cherished by services community. Henceforth, his membership with the organization shall be terminated for life time,” the ESM League Nagaland stated in a press release. The organisation also appealed the concern authority to take strictest action against the culprit.

Mokokchung Press Club condoles

Mokokchung, May 13 (MExN): The Mokokchung Press Club (MPC) has conveyed condolences to Akangnungsang Jamir on the passing of his father Temjenyanger on May 13. “Losing a parent is an immense loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you go through this period of grief. May you find solace in the memories you shared and the love that surrounds you,” MPC stated in its condolence message. “Please know that we are here to offer any support or assistance you may need. Sharing our thoughts and prayers with you and your family. May our dearest parent rest in eternal peace,” MPC added.
