
‘Congress Supporters Nagaland’ not an official group: NPCC
Dimapur, May 1 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) on Wednesday stated that its attention has been drawn towards the activities of a WhatsApp group created and operating under the name and style of, ‘Congress Supporters Nagaland.’ “This group, which is not an official group of the Congress Party in Nagaland, has been observed to be a hub of anti party comments and activities. “Any Party worker who is a member of the said group is advised to disassociate itself from the group and refrain from indulging in such anti party behavior to avoid disciplinary proceedings,” stated a press release issued by Communications Department, NPCC.
GPRN/NSCN under UT-1 meeting
Dimapur, May 1 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN under Union Territory-1 has informed all national workers that there will be a general meeting on May 3 at 10:00 am at Naga Unification camp. Khehoyi. The GPRN/NSC under Union Territory-1, chairman, Hekiye Zhimo in a press release has informed all rank and file under Union Territory-1 to attend the meeting positively.
Abduction of construction worker in Pfutsero condemned
Pfutsero, May 1 (MExN): The Pfutsero Town Colony Chairman Union (PTCCU) and Pfutsero Town GB Union (PTGBU) have strongly condemned the abduction of a non-local construction worker on April 22 and the ransom of Rs 5 lakh demanded allegedly by the four suspects associated with a Naga Political Group. The two organisations in a press release expressed shock stating it is “angered by the criminal act carried out by the suspects under its jurisdiction. The suspects are not residents of Pfutsero town but are just criminals from outside Pfutsero jurisdiction bringing bad image to Pfutsero Town and the district of Phek.” The PTCCU, Convener Mesulo Khalo and PTGBU Head GB, Hiinetsii Vero in their statement said that the unions strongly condemn “such uncivilized individuals who have a mind to hurt anyone for their own benefits and such individuals have no place in a society and demand the highest possible punishment as per the law.” They have also strongly warned that such illegal activities in the future will not be tolerated and will be severely dealt with. Further, they appreciated the professional operation carried out by the Kohima and Phek police in saving lives and booking the two suspects on April 23.
Moatsü festival greetings
Kohima, May 1 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang has extended greetings to Ao community on the occasion of Moatsü Festival. Zeliang said that Moatsü is a major festival of the Ao tribe, which is celebrated with great fanfare and feasting after seeds sowing for good harvest. He expressed hope that the Moatsü Festival will rekindle the spirit of unity, foster fraternity and love, rejuvenate cultural values and bring prosperity amongst the Ao community.
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton also greeted the Ao community on the auspicious occasion of Moatsü, its premier festival. Patton said that the Ao community has always been known for preserving their rich Cultural heritage in this fast changing world and the same goes with their festivals. Patton believes that this premier Festival of the Ao community will be celebrated with grandeur. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, he wished them a very blessed festival filled with fun and fervor.
