Dy CM greets on Apikimti

Dimapur, November 3 (MExN): Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton has greeted the Sumi community on the occasion of Apikimti. Patton said that both old and young people take part in the festival that lasts usually for two days in merry making and feasting. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy CM conveyed festive greetings and hoped ‘it is celebrated with joy and happiness.’ 

Forms for Hornbill Night Carnival

Kohima, November 3 (MExN): The Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) informed that it will be initiating Hornbill Night Carnival 2022. Application forms for stall during the Night Carnival will be available at KCCI Office, TU Building, Kohima Main Town from November 7 to 16. Interested individuals, organisation, NGOs, SHGs, entrepreneur can come and collect the forms during 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. “This Hornbill Night Carnival will commence from December 1 to 10 and be will managed by the KCCI,” it stated. 

GPPK condoles

Kohima, November 3 (MExN): The Gorkha Public Panchayat, Kohima (GPPK) has expressed shock over the sudden demise of Zakie Khate, former President, Angami Students’ Union who passed away after prolonged illness October 31. He was a humble and inspiring student leader who was also associated with Gorkhas of Kohima and his demise not a loss to the family members alone but a great loss for all communities, the GPPK said in a condolence message.  The Panchayat remembers him at this hour of grief for all that he had contributed in different forms to the Gorkha Community of Kohima, it said. It further conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty God provide them solace and also grant the departed soul an eternal peace.

Nagaland GB Federation acknowledges Murmu, Rio

Dimapur, November 3 (MExN): Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) extended gratitude to the President of India, Droupadi Murmu on her maiden visit to Nagaland. Her second visit within a span of few months to Nagaland reflects her deep concern and love for the Naga people, the federation stated. “We the Gaonburas, representing from grassroots people of Nagaland wishes her good health and happiness,” it stated in a press release. Meanwhile, NGBF acknowledged the effort made By Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on his speech regarding the Naga Political issue during the President's reception program. “We deeply appreciated him for his genuine concern and urging for early Naga political solution.  We hope and anticipate a good result out of her visit to Nagaland,” the federation added. 

Sümi Discussion Forum mourns 

Dimapur, November 3 (MExN): The Sümi Discussion Forum (SDF) has mourned the demise of Pukhato Achumi, GB of Shena old village, who had passed away at his native village on November 3. He was 101. In this hour of grief, SDF in a condolence message said that the ‘family joins in mourning of beloved grandfather – who is also the father of our respected member Er Kahuli Sema, Engineer-in-Chief, NPWD & President, Sumi Officer Union Kohima (SOUK) and her family.’ 

Pensioners in Wokha informed 

Wokha, November 3 (MExN): The Wokha District Pensioners’ Associatiown (WDPA) office informed all its registered members to renew their ID Card-D and submit Life Certificate for 2022-23 during November 3-December 16 without fail. A press release from the WDPA President, Yihamo Pattonb informed that members to bring along ID Card-D (original), recent passport photo, PPO Part I&II, Bank Account number, PAN Card and photo copy of Aadhaar card during the registration. 

NCSU general meet on Nov 7

Kohima, November 3 (MExN): Nagaland Contractors' & Suppliers' Union (NCSU) has convened its general meeting on November 7 at 11:00 AM at NCSU conference hall, Kohima. All members, especially the district unit officials are informed to attend.
