
Nagaland CM & Deputy CM condoles
KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 23 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton had expressed grief at the demise of former Assam Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi. A press release from the CM described Gogoi as a tall able veteran leader full of energy, who gave his best for the State of Assam and the nation. “He will be remembered for his sacrifices and contributions in the service of the nation and will remain in the hearts of the people for generations to come,” the CM said. Meanwhile, a press release from the Deputy CMO’s media cell said that Gogoi was a tall political leader from the North East region who was respected for his integrity and wisdom. “He took over the helm of affairs when Assam was at the peak of insurgency turmoil, and brought it to path of visible peace and development through a matured diplomatic approach,” Patton said.
ADC Jalukie seals house
JALUKIE, NOVEMBER 23 (MExN): The ADC Jalukie, Dr Tinojongshi Chang has sealed a house at Stadium Colony, Jalukie Town with effect from November 21 till further order. This has been done following detection of a COVID-19 positive case. All the public and concerned has been advised to follow all safety precautions, especially within the proximity of the sealed area. The ADC further informed that all movement of person/vehicle in the sealed area is strictly restricted/prohibited and under active surveillance with effect from the date of sealing. Any persons violating the orders will be liable to be prosecuted as per the provisions of section 51-60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal actions under section-188 of the IPC.
Dimapur Forest office sealed
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 23 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, has ordered temporary sealing of the Forest Office Complex and Range Office, Forest Colony for 48 hours with immediate effect till further order. An order from the DC informed that this has been done in order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COV1D-19. The order cautioned that any person violating these containment measures will be liable to be proceeded as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section-188 of the IPC.
Post office unsealed: Meanwhile the DC has ordered the unsealing of the Post Office, NE-II Region, Dimapur with effect from November 23. An order from the DC informed that this has been done in view of the post office being sanitized, and all the precautionary measures taken as per the government guidelines.
KVYO calls off Winter Bazaar 2020
KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 23 (MExN): The Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO) has informed that this year’s 2020 Winter Bazaar at Khuochiezie, Local Ground Kohima has been called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A press release from the KVYO General Secretary, Neingusalie Khruomo said that the decision was taken keeping in mind the increasing number of COVID-19 cases and respecting the government’s SOP. It meanwhile extended season’s greetings to all and urged for adherence of all SOPs.
GPRN/NSCN discharges 2
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 23 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has discharged one Pte. Thsasepa, A/No. 20523 and Pte. Yangtangba, A/No. 20541 from active service in the Naga Army on ground of health ailment. “The service rendered during their stint in the national service is very much praiseworthy and acknowledged. Naga Army, GPRN/NSCN wishes them a healthy and prosperous future,” a press release from the MIP, GPRN/NSCN stated.
NSCN (IM) condoles
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 23 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed sadness at the demise of YL Nagato, Deputy Kilonser of NSCN/GPRN from Shiponger village under Yimchunger Region on November 23. A press release from the MIP, NSCN (IM) informed that late Nagato had enrolled in the Naga national service in March 1994. “He served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill in. For his selfless contribution to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrificial deeds for the Naga nation shall ever be cherished by all,” the press release stated. It meanwhile conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the late Deputy Kilonser.
