BJP Mokokchung appoints District General Secretary

Mokokchung, October 14 (MExN): The BJP Mokokchung District has announced the appointment of Tiameren Longchar (MSc) as District General Secretary with effect from October 14. The appointment order was officially designated by S Bendang Aier, President of BJP Mokokchung District, in the presence of Meyisupong, District Vice President and Koridang Incharge, along with other esteemed officials, stated a press release issued by the Media Cell, BJP Mokokchung District. The party welcomed Tiameren Longchar and said, “We believe this appointment will significantly contribute to the party's vision and growth in the district.”

Kohima Press Club mourns

Kohima, October 14 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) has mourned the demise of its well wisher and former member, Duosanyü Stephen Keditsu, who passed away on October 13 in Kohima after a prolonged illness. Duosanyü Stephen Keditsu was the brainchild behind NM Cable Network, which is one of the first major cable television networks in Nagaland's capital Kohima. “We offer our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and his sons, Thepfüvilie Apisü Keditsu and Neitho Keditsu, who are active members of Kohima Press Club,” the club stated in a press note. “In his passing, we have lost a father figure and we mourn this irreparable loss together with them and pray for God's peace and comfort, and for the departed soul to rest in peace,” it added.

UNC on ‘unmandated organisations’

SENAPATI, October 14 (NNN): Reacting on the newly formed organisation in the name and style of the “United Tribal Council Manipur” by “few individuals”, the United Naga Council (UNC) said today that, “as the apex body of the Nagas living in the present state of Manipur”, it is constrained to give out this press statement to dispel confusion arising out of the mushrooming of “unmandated organisations” by prefixing and suffixing terms such as ‘united tribal’, ‘all Manipur’, ‘tribal unity’, ‘indigenous tribal’, which are void of representations from the structural form of organisation at the grassroot level”. Reiterating the statement issued by this council on June 16, 2023, on social media or in print media, the UNC said that any narrative issued by the unmandated organisations/unions/councils does not carry the voice and aspiration of the people.  

Sericulture board constituted

Kohima, October 14 (MExN): The Department of Sericulture, Nagaland has informed that the Sericulture Board Nagaland (SBN) has been constituted with the following members: Henhkohao Singsong, Commissioner & Secretary-Chairman; Pukhaxu Jhimo, Advisor (HMCSL)/UDA,NO (Evl)-Secretary; and members including Shameek Deb, Civil Engineering; Nito John Lohe Sumi, Director (FPO); Neitho Kense, Social Worker/ NGO; Hekuto, HMCSL/CBBO Programme Coordinator; Arpita Dhar, Legal Consultant & Company Secretary.
