DPC announces online membership drive

Dimapur, October 5 (MExN): The Dimapur Press Club (DPC) announced the launch of its online membership drive for the 2025–26 term, scheduled from October 6 to 20. The entire registration process will be conducted digitally for the first time to enhance convenience and accessibility, the club said in a statement. Prospective and existing members can register or renew their membership by visiting the official DPC website at sites.google.com/view/dimapurpressclub. The membership fees have been set at Rs 300 for new members and Rs 250 for renewals, the statement added. For any queries, applicants have been advised to contact DPC President Henlly Phom or any of the club's executive members. The DPC has encouraged all eligible individuals to complete their registration within the stipulated dates.

Free skill training for Chümoukedima from Oct 7

Chümoukedima, October 5 (MExN): A free Skill Training programme sponsored by the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM), Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Government of Nagaland, will commence on October 7 at 6th Mile, Sovima, near ICFAI University, Chümoukedima. The training is exclusively open to residents of Chümoukedima district and will cover two trades — Electrician cum Plumbing and Masonry cum Tiling (Construction). The one-month programme is designed for candidates with a minimum educational qualification of Class 5 and above. Participants will receive free accommodation and food during the training period. Upon successful completion, trainees will be awarded certificates. The sessions will run daily from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Sensitization prog on residential rooftop solar installation

Kohima, October 5 (MExN): Kohima Electrical Division will be conducting a Sensitization and Awareness Program on Residential Rooftop Solar Installation with the Council members and general public of Lower-Agri/ Merhulietsa Colony & Para-Medical Colony on October 7 at 3:30 PM at Para-Medical Panchayat Hall, Kohima. The council members and general public have been requested to make it convenient to attend the same positively. This was stated in a release issued by Er. Shiludi Longkumer, Executive Engineer, Kohima Electrical Division.

Free health camp held at SBI branch Kohima

Kohima, October 5 (MExN): A free health check-up camp for pensioners, customers, and employees was held at the State Bank of India (SBI) Kohima branch on October 4 under the theme “Your health, our priority.” The health camp was organised by the SBI Kohima Branch in association with the Chief Medical Officer, Kohima. Doctors and health workers from the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program, National Health Mission Nagaland, Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, and National Viral Hepatitis Control Program conducted the check-ups and screenings. Around one hundred pensioners, customers, and employees availed of the free screening and medical consultation during the camp.

Yemshe cum Mini Hornbill Festival celebrated in Meluri

Meluri, October 5 (MExN): The Pochury community celebrated its Yemshe cum Mini Hornbill Festival with Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, as the Special Guest at Meluri on October 3. Yemshe, the premier festival of the Pochury tribe, is observed annually from October 1 to 5. In his address, Zhalio Rio said the festival marked a time of celebration after hard work and reminded the community that “the idea of getting a rich harvest without any labour is a misconception.” Advisor for New & Renewable Energy and NSDMA, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, who hosted the event, said Meluri, the youngest district of Nagaland, is rightly known as the “Land of Fortunes” because of its natural resources and economic potential. Earlier, welcome notes and greetings were delivered by the President of Pochury Hoho, Chonpa Curry, and the Deputy Commissioner of Meluri, K. Mhathang Tsanglao. The event was compered by Jitsiarho Po and Kuojirhongu Kajiri.

NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Vusshe) discharges one

Dimapur, October 5 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Vusshe) in pursuance of the personal appeal made to the concerned authority has discharged Kiusangthong, Kilonser from the active and primary membership of the Government on account of medical ground, with immediate effect. “The Government acknowledges his service rendered and wishes him success in his future endeavors,” the MIP, NSCN/GPRN (Khango-Vusshe) said in a press release.
