
NCD invites all ex-councilors
to its jubilee celebration
Dimapur, October 29 (MExN): The Platinum Jubilee Committee of the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has extended an invitation to all former councilors for its Platinum Jubilee Celebration scheduled for November 2 at the Dimapur District Sports Council Stadium, starting at 10 AM. The committee has arranged a separate seating area for the former councilors at the venue. In a press release, the committee expressed its intention to honor all former councilors for their commendable service in the past. They also conveyed regret for not being able to send individual invitation cards due to the lack of residential addresses on file at the NCD Office and requested that this media announcement be considered as the official invitation.
Power shutdown of Thizama
& New Secretariat feeders
KOHIMA, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): The Executive Engineer of the Electrical Division in Kohima has announced a temporary shutdown of 11 kV feeders of New Secretariat and Thizama to facilitate the relocation of the 33 kV Kohima ring main transmission power line for construction of the State Emergency Operating Centre (SEOC) at the New Secretariat Complex. The shutdown is scheduled for October 31 and November 3, from 9 AM to 4 PM and the areas to be affected include Meriema, Thizama, the New Secretariat complex area, and Phezoucha colony. Executive Engineer, Er. Shiludi Longkumer, in a press release has requested all consumers in the affected areas to take necessary precautions and plan accordingly. He also urged the public to cooperate and bear with any inconveniences that may arise during the shutdown period.
Labour Dept to hold melas for E-Shram left-out registrants
Kohima, October 29 (MExN): The Labour Department of Nagaland has notified all left-out registrants of the e-Shram portal that melas will be held from November 4-8 at all District Civil Supply offices to issue ration cards. This notification follows the Supreme Court of India's order passed on October 4 regarding the issues faced by migrant workers. The melas is jointly organised by the Departments of Labour and Food & Civil Supplies to facilitate the issuance of ration cards to all left-out registrants under the e-Shram portal, as informed by the State DIPR. All e-Shram registrants who have not yet received their ration cards are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity, the notification stated
STO Dimapur informs pensioners
Dimapur, October 29 (MExN): The Office of the Senior Treasury Officer (STO) has announced that physical verification for pensioners drawing a monthly salary under its office will begin on November 11, 2024. To facilitate this process and minimize disruption to normal departmental transactions, a verification schedule has been prepared, running from November 11-30 and December 9-18. Pensioners are advised to bring their personal copy of the Pension Payment Order (PPO) book and to attend the verification on the appointed dates without fail. Failure to attend the physical verification will result in the pension case being considered closed and subsequently submitted to the Accountant General of Nagaland after the verification process is complete.
CBCC Conference from Nov 8
Kohima, October 29 (MExN): The Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) wll be holding three day long Mission Conference 2024 under the theme “God’s Mission, Our Task” from November 8 to 10 at Phek Town Baptist Church. The preachers for the conference will include Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, Nagaland Baptist Church Council; Dr Rema Chhakchhuak, Asian Mission Mobilizer, Baptist Mission Australia; Rev Sehu Belho, Strategic Co-ordinator on Course Mission, Nagaland; and Rev Dr Chekrovei Cho-o, Executive Secretary CBCC. All invited missionaries are expected to attend the conference. All local churches under CBCC have been requested to send their senior/lead pastors, pastors, associate pastors, general, youth, women, Children Ministry, Mission Board chairman and Deacon Board Chairman. The opening ceremony will take place at 4PM on November 8.
NSCN/GPRN (Khango) condoles
Dimapur, October 29 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) has mourned the sudden demise of Atokivi Kiba, Khapur from Lukikhe Village of the Sumi Region, on October 29. Late Kiba served the nation wholeheartedly with full commitment and a spirit of patriotism for the cause of the Naga nation until his last breath, and the nation has lost a dedicated and respected member, stated a condolence note from the MIP, NSCN/GPRN (Khango). However, his remarkable service records and commitment to the Naga nation shall always be cherished in the annals of Naga history, it added. The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) conveyed its sympathy to the bereaved family members and prays that Almighty God grants solace and comfort during this time of grief.
