DC Niuland declares Hovukhu Solar Plant as restricted area

NIULAND, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner, Niuland, has declared the 2×5 MW Hovukhu Solar Power Plant a restricted area in the interest of public safety. A notification stated that the power plant comprises high-voltage electrical equipment that could be fatal upon contact or during transmission through air in foggy or rainy weather. Despite fencing and cautionary notices, some individuals have been entering the premises without authorization, posing risks to life and equipment. The order warned that trespassers at the Hovukhu Solar Power Plant will be arrested and booked under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other relevant laws.

DC Tuensang informs on APAAR Id requirement

TUENSANG, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, NCS, has informed that Aadhaar is mandatory for generating APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) and Permanent Education Number (PEN) for students under the UDISE system. In a circular, the DC advised all parents who have not yet enrolled their children for Aadhaar to do so at the earliest to ensure smooth implementation of Aadhaar-linked student records in schools.

Kohima DPDB meeton October 14

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B Henok Buchem, has issued a circular informing all members that the monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) Kohima for October 2025 is scheduled on October 14 at 11 AM in the DPDB Conference Hall, Kohima. Board members have been requested to attend the meeting.

DC Tuensang notifies shortlisted candidates 

TUENSANG, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Tuensang has directed all shortlisted candidates for two-wheeler taxi permits to appear for an interview at the DC office, Tuensang, on October 8, at 1 PM.

Mock earthquake exercise in Tuensang 

TUENSANG, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Tuensang, will hold a mock exercise simulating an earthquake scenario on October 10. In preparation, DDMA will convene a Table Top Exercise (TTEx) cum preparatory meeting on October 9 at 12 PM at the DC’s Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner Tuensang informed.

Tuensang DPDB meeting held

TUENSANG, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): The Tuensang District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on October 7 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and DPDB Vice-Chairman, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, NCS. The board recommended the proposals for registration of Hak Village Development Society, Rural Farmers Society, and Yangpi Nukenloba Mission Society, and decided to forward them to the government for approval. Highlighting the deteriorating road conditions leading to Tuensang, the DC urged the concerned departments to undertake immediate restoration work. She also lauded the Principal of Sao Chang College and the Water Resources Department for their service to the people through various initiatives. PowerPoint presentations were given by Sao Chang College and the Water Resources Department, Tuensang. The Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Tuensang appealed to all heads of departments and line agencies to extend cooperation for the 2025 plan. The DC acknowledged ATMA Tuensang for being adjudged the best-performing district in the state.  The Principal of Extension Training Centre (SIRD) was also inducted as a member of the DPDB Tuensang.

NSCN (IM) denies circulationof fictitious budget

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) on Tuesday issued a clarification denying the circulation of a purported budget for the home visit of the Ato Kilonser. In a statement issued by its MIP, the NSCN (IM) described reports shared on Facebook and WhatsApp as “utterly absurd” and termed the information as deliberate misinformation. The statement clarified that neither the council nor the concerned committee had prepared or disclosed any budget related to the home visit, which is scheduled for October 22. The NSCN (IM) alleged that the false reports were a tactic employed by adversaries with malicious intentions.

PAPO clarifies on earlier statement on assault case

PHEK, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): The Phek Area Public Organisation (PAPO) has issued a clarification in supersession of its earlier statement dated October 4 regarding the condemnation of sexual assaults allegedly committed by Hekugha Chophi of Tsutoho Village. In a press communiqué, PAPO reaffirmed its firm stand against the alleged crimes but expressed regret over the inadvertent disclosure of the victim’s identity in the public domain. The organisation stated that the exposure of the victim’s identity was unintentional and should be treated as an error. PAPO reiterated its appeal to all citizens to strongly condemn such acts and to extend cooperation to law enforcement agencies to ensure that justice is delivered at the earliest. The organisation further urged the concerned authorities to deal with the matter with utmost seriousness and to provide necessary security measures for the safety of the victim. It also assured that PAPO remains committed to supporting the victim throughout the process.

NSCN/GPRN (Khango) recovers stolen vehicle, owner asked to claim

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 7 (MExN): The UT-1 unit of NSCN/GPRN (Khango) has recovered a silver Maruti Suzuki Alto bearing Engine No. MA3EAD1S00440034 and Chassis No. MA3EADE1S00440034XCD. The rightful owner has been asked to present the original vehicle documents and claim the vehicle from the office of UT-1 within seven days from the date of publication.
