Unidentified dead body recovered

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): An unidentified body of a non-local male was found lying dead by the footpath of Kalibari Road near DMC Office, Dimapur.  A press note from Dy. Commissioner of Police (Crime)/PRO Dimapur informed that the dead body was found wearing a brown shirt and greenish pant and has now been shifted to District Hospital Dimapur morgue for post-mortem examination/identification.  Claimant/relatives/friends of the deceased have been requested to contact Officer-in-Charge, Sub-Urban PS Dimapur (Contact No. 7085055026), the press note further informed. 

DC Wokha notifies on excess firearms

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan has informed all arms license holders under Wokha district that any person in possession of more than two firearms to deposit the excess arms with the office-in-charge of the nearest police station or with a license dealer or where such person is a member of the armed forces of the union in a unit armoury as given in Section 21 (1) of the Arms Act 1959.  In a notification, the DC said all such excess firearms should be deposited in the aforementioned places and to surrender the licenses of such excess firearms to licensing authority, ie, office of the Deputy Commissioner Wokha within 3 weeks from the date of the issue of this notification.

DC Dimapur convenes meeting on Army recruitment rally

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur has informed that a co-ordination meeting has been convened on September 4 at 12 Noon to discuss on Army recruitment rallies at Bhagat Stadium Rangapahar, Dimapur from September 13-14 for Nagaland and September 25-30 for Manipur. The meeting will be held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner office.  In this connection, representatives from the Army Recruiting Office, Commissioner of Police, District Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer and District Public Relation Officer have been requested to attend the said meeting.

NSCN (IM) takes strong exception to Aug 29 incident

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 1 (MExN): The NSCN (IM), particularly the Naga Army, said it has taken a strong exception to the August 29 incident in the hands of the 43rd Assam Rifles (AR) manned security check gate at Doyapur en-route to Hebron Camp/Council Headquarters of NSCN/GPRN. Without going into detail over the incident, an MIP release said such an “overbearing manner of the AR has never come in good taste for the NSCN engaged in the Indo-Naga political talks for the last many years since 1997.” It is the spirit of the ceasefire to sustain the ongoing political dialogue that NSCN has been patiently bearing with all the inconveniences and incendiary behavior of Indian Security Forces, the NSCN (IM) maintained.
