Diphupar bodies condemn unprovoked firing
Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): The Diphupar Village Council (DVC), Diphupar Naga Women's Organisation (DNWO), and Diphupar Naga Youth Organisation (DNYO) strongly condemned an ‘unprovoked firing incident’ allegedly carried out by a group of ‘national workers’ in the Diphupar L-Khel area on the evening of September 28. In a statement, the organisations expressed deep dismay that such an incident was occurring at a time when the people are “yearning for lasting peace” and with the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) making sincere efforts to bring all Naga political groups together. ‘Such reckless and irresponsible actions not only disturb public tranquility but also put innocent lives at risk,’ the statement said. The village body issued a stern warning, stating it would ‘not tolerate such acts in the future.’ “If such incidents are repeated, the Diphupar Village Council will have no choice but to declare non-cooperation against the group responsible,” it added. The organisations appealed to all right-thinking citizens and organisations to stand united against such disruptive actions and to continue supporting the collective journey towards peace and reconciliation.
