Mokokchung DPDB meet on Sept 19

Tseminyu DPDB meeting held
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 (MExN): The monthly Tseminyu DPDB meeting was held on September 13 in the conference hall of DC office, Tseminyu. During the meeting, the house discussed on the allotment/acquisition of land/fixation land rate for SDEO/DEO office, Rural Self Employment Training Institute, DPO, Land Resources Development, Government College, District Sericulture Office and Power Sub-Station, a DIPR report stated. The meeting was chaired over by Deputy Commissioner &Vice Chairman DPDB, Tseminyu and was attended by MLA & Chairman DPDB Tseminyu, Jwenga Seb. New members of Tseminyu DPDB namely, SP Tseminyu Tali Imchen; PWD (R&B) Er Kughaho Zhimomi and DPO, Zakir Lhoungu were introduced and welcomed during the meeting.
KTCN meeting on September 16

APP Nagaland to state govt: Initiate measures to avoid human-elephant conflict
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 (MExN): The Aam Admi Party (APP) Nagaland on Thursday said with the burgeoning human population and its consequent expansion, the human-elephant conflict was inevitable. However, had the government of the day sensing it had taken pre-emptive measures, the conflict would have been controlled to some logical extent and eventual damages mitigated. The AAP Nagaland has therefore demand to the Government of Nagaland to immediately initiate and formulate action oriented measures without further loss of time and safeguard its citizens from imminent catastrophe. Sadly, there has been loss of human lives which is unfortunate, it added. AAP Nagaland stands with the citizens of Wokha at this dark hour and sends our condolences to the families of those who have lost their loved ones, a press communiqué received from APP Nagaland stated.
DC Zunheboto informs vehicle owners, drivers requisitioned for poll duties
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali has directed all the vehicle owners/drivers whose vehicles were requisitioned from Dimapur and had engaged in polling duties at Zunheboto during the recently concluded Nagaland Legislative Assembly 2023 to claim their halting and hiring charges from the office of the Deputy Commissioner Dimapur (election branch) starting from September 18 till 20 during the office hours. Informing this, a DIPRT report said the concerned should produce their vehicle requisition order and duty slips without which no payment shall be made.
District level youth festival in Mokokchung
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 (MExN): The District Youth Resources Officer (YRO), Mokokchung has announced a District Level Youth Festival for young individuals aged between 16 to 29 years in Mokokchung District. This festival promises to be a celebration of youthful talent and culture, featuring folk song and folk dance competitions, a DIPR report informed.
The festival will take place in Mokokchung. Folk Song Competition: Each participating group may consist of a minimum of 6 members and a maximum of 10 members.
Folk Dance Competition: Each participating group may consist of a minimum of 10 members and a maximum of 15 members.
Prizes: For the Folk Song Competition: 1st Prize: Rs. 3000 and 2nd Prize: Rs. 2000
For the Folk Dance Competition: 1st Prize: Rs. 5000 and 2nd Prize: Rs. 3000.
Winners at the District Level will earn the chance to represent Mokokchung District at the Youth Festival in Kohima.

ATMA Mokokchung, Changtongya block capacity building on mushroom cultivation
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 (MExN): Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mokokchung, Changtongya block conducted capacity building programme on Mushroom Cultivation and Kisan Gosthi on September 12 at Unger Village with Toshirenla T Longkumer as the resources person.
A press release from ATMA Mokokchung informed that resource person Toshirenla demonstrated step by step process of mushroom cultivation by using banana leave substrate. She shared that banana leaves produced a significantly higher yield next to paddy straw. Altogether 13 female farmers from Ashinii SHG took part in the programme. Inputs like mushroom spawn, garden gloves, seeds and neem oil were given out to the participants.
Kisan Gosthi was also organised for the farmers where progressive farmer Limakumla shared her experience, knowledge and techniques of farming to the fellow farmers from Unger village. Interactive session between the farmers and discussion on problems like yellowing of leaves in colocasia and gundhi bug pest in paddy cultivation was highlighted to which the resource person shared management practices and disease control measures. Altogether 19 female participants took part in the programme.
CM Rio, Dy CM Patton, NDPP condoles
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 14 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton and the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has condoled the death of Kiutangla, mother of Advisor for Youth Resources & Sports, S. Keoshu Yimkhung on September 14.
CM Rio in his condolence message said late Kiutangle was a faithful and beloved mother, blessed with five sons and three daughters. Even though she left for heavenly abode, God has indeed blessed her with a long and fruitful life enriched with many wonderful memories. She was a committed person who gave her best towards society.
Patton said late Kiutangla had been an exceptional woman of strength and grace, who leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Dy.CM conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and pray for the departed to rest in peace.
The loss of a mother in a family is both painful and irreplaceable and the NDPP family mourns the loss of a dear mother with Advisor Keoshu and the family, NDPP president Chingwang Konyak said in its condolence message.
