Gov prorogues 2nd session of 14th NLA

Kohima, September 26 (MExN): In exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (2) (a) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India, La. Ganesan, Governor of Nagaland has prorogue the Second Session of the Fourteenth Nagaland Legislative Assembly at the conclusion of its sitting held on September 14. This was stated in a DIPR report.  

NSCPCR condemns child molestation incident

Kohima, September 26 (MExN): The Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NSCPCR) has issued a strong condemnation against the act of child molestation reportedly carried out by one Jose VJ, associated with Holy Angel School in Tuensang, as per the FIR filed on September 19. The Commission asserted its commitment to exhaust all available resources and efforts to ensure that the accused faces justice in accordance with the provisions of the POCSO Act. Further, the Commission expressed its wishes for a swift and complete recovery for the victims, acknowledging the emotional trauma they are enduring. 

Nagaland: 16 arrested, narcotics seized in statewide operation

Kohima, September 26 (MExN): The Nagaland Police has stated that it continues to launch statewide operations in all the district of Nagaland in order to combat the menace of widespread availability and usage of synthetic drugs and psychotropic substances and IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor) and its effects on the youth. 
A press release issued through the DIPR stated that Intensive checking of vehicles (MVCP), raids and checking of hotels, restaurants, etc., has been launched to prevent any such illegal activity.
The fortnightly report from September 1 to 15 of detection/seizures records 10 cases for seizure of narcotics & psychotropic substances for which 12 persons were arrested. The seized items include Spasmo Proxyvon & other tablets (1369 no.) and Brown sugar (163.6 grams). The police also seized IMFL (464 no.) and made an arrest of four persons in four different cases. 
Further, Nagaland Police appealed to the general public to provide information of sale/distribution of any form of Narcotics/Drugs/IMFL etc., to the nearest Police Station or Narcotic Police Station. The CUG (Closed User Group) phone numbers of various Nagaland Police Officers & Police Stations is available in ‘Call Your Cop’ mobile App. “The identity of the informant shall be kept confidential,” it added.  

NBSE notifies on registration process HSLC and HSSLC exams

Kohima, September 26 (MExN): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has released information regarding the registration process for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Examinations in 2024, exclusively for regular students. As per the notification, the registration window for regular students is scheduled to open from October 3 to 13.
Prospective regular candidates are required to complete their application forms by accessing the NBSE portal at nbsenl.edu.in.
Institutions and schools have been entrusted with the responsibility of collecting the necessary fees, verifying the application forms, and remitting the examination fees for their regular candidates within the specified period mentioned above.
It was emphasised that no applications would be accepted beyond the stipulated registration dates, so intending candidates have been urged to adhere to the provided schedule.
