NSCN/GPRN (Khango) discharges Deputy Kilonser
Dimapur, September 19 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) has discharged Deputy Kilonser C Ramji Chang from the active and primary membership of the organization, according to an official order issued by the Ato Kilonser Office. The decision follows a recommendation by the Chairman of the Chang Region and cites violations of the party's discipline, specifically Section A, Clause 8, and Section C, Clause 4. The discharge order stated that the membership of the said official is no longer valid. Consequently, the organization will not be accountable for any of his actions henceforth.
DoTE announces scholarship registration for Engineering students
KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 19 (MExN): The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Nagaland, has announced that students from Scheduled Tribes of Nagaland pursuing Diploma, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate courses in Engineering Institutes within India can now register for scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic session. The online registration, applicable to both fresh and renewal applicants, will be open from September 20, 2024, to November 30, 2024. Eligible students must complete the registration process through the Common Scholarship Portal at www.scholarship.nagaland.gov.in. Institutes must be recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or the Council of Architecture.
Recruitment of Dobashis in Kohima kept in abeyance
Kohima, September 19 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS, has announced that the recruitment process for seven Dobashi posts under the District Administration has been put on hold until further notice. In a circular issued by the DC’s office, it was stated that the earlier advertisement has been superseded in accordance with a directive from the Office of the Commissioner, Nagaland. The decision to suspend the recruitment process was taken by the District Level Recruitment Board (DLRB).
New office bearers elected for Zeliangrongram Colony Council
Dimapur, September 19 (MExN): The Zeliangrongram Colony Council has elected new office bearers for a five-year term following unanimous endorsement by the executive members and general public. James Akham was elected as the Chairman, Yitu Liegise as the Secretary, and Nampiebeu as the Treasurer, with their tenure beginning on September 3. The council expressed confidence in the newly elected officials to lead the community effectively during their term.
Army recovers seven IEDs in Manipur
DIMAUR, SEPTEMBER 19 (MExN): In a significant achievement, a joint operation by the Indian Army and Manipur Police has averted a major disaster in Manipur. The operation led to the recovery of seven Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the hill regions near Bongjang and Itham villages, located in the Imphal East district. Following specific intelligence, the Army and Manipur Police initiated an extensive search, employing Army Explosives Detection Dogs. The operation uncovered seven IEDs, collectively weighing approximately 28.5 kilograms. Army Engineers successfully diffused the devices, preventing what could have been a catastrophic event and safeguarding numerous lives.
