Akavi Chishi elected new president of NNC/FGN
DIMAPUR, JUNE 18 (MExN): The Tatar Hoho of the Naga National Council/Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN) held an emergency meeting in Dimapur on June 18 and unanimously elected Chaplee Kilonser Akavi Chishi as the new president of NNC/FGN. According to a press note issued by Akheho Achumi, Secretary, the meeting was convened to deliberate on the impeachment of General (Retd) TM Rhokho from the presidency. Following the decision, Chishi was formally elected to lead the organisation.
Nagaland Assembly Library Committee meeting on June 25
KOHIMA, JUNE 18 (MExN): The first meeting of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Library Committee for the 2025–2026 tenure has been scheduled on June 25 at 11 AM. Deputy Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Chairman of the Library Committee, S. Toiho Yeptho, will chair the meeting, which will be held in the C. Chongshen Committee Room at the Assembly Secretariat, Kohima. All members of the Committee have been requested to attend the meeting.
Dimapur DPDB meeting postponed
DIMAPUR, JUNE 18 (MExN): The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Dimapur district scheduled for June 2025 has been postponed until further notice. Dr Tinojongshi Chang, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Dimapur, informed that all concerned departments and DPDB members have been duly notified of the postponement. No revised date for the meeting has been announced yet.
NNC/FGN monthly meeting on June 30
KOHIMA, JUNE 18 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) will convene their monthly meeting on June 30, at 10 AM at the Transit Peace Camp, Kohima. An official notification issued by the Ministry of Rali Wali, FGN, has informed that all Central Authorities, Regional Authorities, and leaders of the Naga Women Federation (NWF), Nagaland Youth Federation (NYF), as well as eligible Naga Army officers of the NNC/FGN are requested to attend the meeting without fail.
