Free medical camp in Kohima
Kohima, September 14 (MExN): A free medical camp for the residents of New Reserve and Lerie Chazou under the initiative of MLA Dr Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhutso will take place on September 19 at New Reserve Panchayat Hall from 10:00 AM onwards. The medical camp will feature blood test, ultra sound, ENT screening, dental check up, consultation, home service for bedridden and elderly patients, cervical screening (PAP Smear), BP and sugar check up.
Longleng DC issues traffic advisory on NH-702
Longleng, September 14 (MExN): Vehicular movement along a stretch of the Changtongya-Longleng Road (NH-702) has been completely obstructed following a major landslide, the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, W Manpai Phom, NCS, said in a circular.
The landslide was reported between Chainage 5+785 and 6+050.
In the interest of public safety and to facilitate vehicular movement, commuters have been advised to take the alternate route via Tangha-Kangching-Merangkong Road, which is presently motorable for light vehicles only.
Heavy vehicles have been advised to refrain from using the alternate route.
Restoration and clearance operations are being undertaken on priority by the concerned authorities to restore normal vehicular connectivity at the earliest.
All commuters have been urged to exercise caution and strictly comply with the directions of the authorities and personnel deployed along the affected and alternate routes.
Nagaland State Level Spelling Bee Championship 2026
Kohima, September 14 (MExN): The Fountain Club, Kohima, in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research &Training (SCERT), Nagaland, will be holding a Nagaland State Level Spelling Bee Championship 2026 from October 20- 21 at the SCERT Office, Kohima. The last date for submission of forms through e-mail fountainclubkma@gmail.com has been fixed on or before October 15. The hard copies of Entry form and passport photos can be submitted on the day of the competition, during the registration time, according to Fountain Club. The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 80,000 while 2nd, 3rd and 4th position holders will be awarded with Rs 60,000, Rs 40,000 and Rs 2000 respectively. Quarter finalists will get Rs 10,000 each. Young Speller and Promising Speller will receive Rs 10,000 each. Forms have been made available in SCERT and DIET Centres- Chiechama, Mokokchung, Wokha, Pfutsero, Mon, Tuensang, Zunheboto and Dimapur. Upper Agri Council new team
Kohima, September 14 (MExN): The Upper Agri Council, Ward–17, Kohima, has constituted a new Council team for the tenure 2026–2029. The newly constituted team has been entrusted with the responsibility of guiding and coordinating the affairs of Upper Agri Colony and to work towards the welfare, development and collective interests of the residents. The new team will be led by Mhasisalie Solo as chairman. Other office bearers includes; Vice Chairman- Akum Jamir, General Secretary- Ngukavi Kinimi, Joint Secretary-Anüsa Thisa, Finance Secretary- Mhashan Patton and Treasurer- Wanmai Konyak.
