Dimapur Government College (DGC) debuted Poiesis, its intra-collegiate annual literary fest on November 4 under the theme Poiesis 2022 ‘Connect. Convey. Convince’. Initiated by the department of English and jointly organised by Performing & Fine Arts Club and Literati Club, DGC, and funded by the College & IQAC, DGC, the fest consisted of literary and painting competitions and a short play “The Pot of Gold” written and directed by I Suzzana Yaden, recently retired faculty in English, DGC. In a special tribute to Prof Temsula Ao, the poetry recitation competition contestants recited a selection of poems from her most collection “Songs”.  A workshop on the topic “Speak with Confidence” was conducted for the English Honours students of DGC by T Imsunaro Ao, Associate Professor, department of Functional English, Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.

Eco Club of Fazl Ali College organised the third segment of Santa’s Workshop with the theme ‘Green Christmas 3’ at Ketsangriju, FAC, Mokokchung on November 4. Santa’s workshop is a popular activity of the club where the students are given hands on training to make budget friendly decorative items and ornaments for Christmas using waste materials and easily available natural items. It is held every year during the onset of Christmas season (October-November). This year 36 students attended the workshop with Eco Club Student Executive Council led by Imkongmar, President Eco Club as trainers.
