Eco-Club of St John College in collaboration with Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Dimapur, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India organized a cleanliness drive at State Stadium, Dimapur on February 12. The cleanliness drive was headed by the Convenor of the Eco-Club, Nijwm Basumatary, Assistant Professor, Environmental Science and Dr Toshinungla, Assistant Professor, Botany. A total of 50 students along with the faculty incharges and members of Jan Shikshan Sansthan led by their Director, Kadenba Walling participated in the cleanliness drive.
The Dr HS Rotokha room which was donated by Dr HS Rotokha to Nito Theological College was dedicated by Rev Hukugha Executive Secretary, SBAK NM and inaugurated by Dr HS Rotokha on February 15. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Kito Awomi lecturer NTC, welcome address by Dr A Niholi Sema Principal NTC, vote of thanks by Ghoito Zhimomi and benediction by Mughatoli Zhimo, lecturer NTC.
The book titled ‘Educational Technology’ by Dr Daili Kholia, HoD, Department of Education of Modern College Kohima was held on February 15 in the Conference room, MITE. It was released by Dr Vitsou Yano, Principal, Modern College Kohima and Dr Kate Dandesh Kumar, Principal of MITE. The author Dr. The book consists of 5 units that throw light on various aspects on educational technology.
NDWM Nagaland Region in collaboration with Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) organised awareness programme on anti trafficking and safe migration in Sewak colony of February 15. Loza, Centre Coordinator for Childline Dimapur explained the forms of trafficking and created awareness on child line number 1098. Fr Paul Inashe Sema spoke on importance of education and effects of media education. Sr Pramila, director ACID and coordinator NDWM Nagaland Region welcomed the gathering including the 55 participants.
Dr Sanuzolu (Pediatrician) and Dr Yopovinu (Pathologist) with a pre-term baby and her parents after she was delivered at 32 weeks at District Hospital, Longleng. With active management led by the pediatrician, the baby survived and has been discharged from the hospital after 19 fighting days. With the posting of specialists in the district hospital, many complicated cases which were previously referred are now managed here. Chang Students Union Tuensang Town (CSUTT), as per its resolution conducted a surprise checking of expired goods in shops located in and around Tuensang town and destroyed the seized items on February 15. A press note by the CSUTT executive chairman and executive secretary stated that the union had warned the shopkeepers not to sell expired goods, CSD items, or goods with a tampered price tag. B.Sc Botany (hons) 6th semester students of Immanuel College undertook one day Mushroom cultivation training at Konger Agritech, Aoyimkum, Dimapur on February 14. Dr Sosang Longkumer, Founder of Konger Agritech highlighted the importance of mushroom and its marketing, gave a hands-on training on the cultivation of mushroom and spawn production. The students visited the farm and spawn production laboratory. Temsutola HOD, Botany and Dr Jichule Seb, Assistant Professor accompanied the students for the training.
