Meluri Trade Fair 2023 underway at Meluri Public Ground in Phek district under the aegis of North East Trade Fair Society in association with Meluri Students’ Union. The fair will continue till September 19.
Office of the Commissioner Nagaland along with UIDAI, Regional Office Guwahati conduct Aadhaar camp at Kohima Orphanage Home on September 15.District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) Kohima observed World Suicide Prevention Week from September 10 to 16 at All India Radio Kohima, Mount Olive College, Don Bosco College and Mount Hermon Higher Secondary School to raise awareness of suicides/suicide attempts and to promote preventive measures with the aim to reduce number of suicides and stomp stigma. (Photo Courtesy: DMHP Kohima, NHAK)The Eye Department of Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) conducted free eye check up and donated spectacles to the elderly residents at Old Age Home Meriema. Old Age Home is run by Good Samaritan Women Society Kohima. This programme was done in commemoration with 38th National Eye Donation forthright under National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visually Impaired. The team was led by Imnapokim, (Eye specialist), Dr Megono and medical assistant from NHAK.Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan graced award distribution ceremony of Thiruppavai and Thiruvempaavi at Ramakrishna Spiritual and Cultural Academy, Perambalur, Tamil Nadu on September 16. The Governor addressed the occasion and also handed over the cash award with citation certificates to the winners. About 400 students from 37 schools participated in the event. The programme was attended by K Karpagam, District Collector, Perambalur, Dr M Sivasubramaniam, Chairman, Ramakrishna Group of Educational Institution, Er MS Vivekanandan, Secretary, Ramakrishna Group of Educational Institution, M Shyamala Devi, Dy SP and others.In celebration of the NACO Youth Festival, the District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit (DAPCU), Mokokchung organised a district level quiz competition at the CMO conference hall on September 16. At the quiz competition, the first position was bagged by Jechu Seb and Lanuren Jamir from Jubilee Memorial School followed by Ternemla and Waluienla from Town Higher Secondary School, and Moajungla and Imtinula from Model Higher Secondary School in second and third position respectively. The quiz master for the quiz competition was Watisenla Jamir. All the winners were felicitated with certificates and cash awards.
