A group of young people pause for tea amidst lush green paddy fields. Their teamwork not only lightens the load but also strengthens bonds. Family, friends and villagers come together freely to help one another during rice cultivation. Clothes streaked with mud and faces tired yet cheerful, these youths carry forward an age-old tradition of cooperative farming that still thrives in the hills. In Eastern Nagaland, the spirit of unity and hard work endures. Even as times change, the people here hold fast to their customs, supporting each other in farming and daily life. The vibrant fields, shared laughter, and simple tea breaks are a reminder of how deeply community and togetherness remain woven into Naga society. (Photo Courtesy: Dr Bongli Sangtam)
