Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima organised outreach activity and Nai Talim Program on ‘Handicraft for Life’ on April 22. Dr Velankanni Alex, the teacher in charge for the outreach activity and Nai Talim stated that the visit was organised to enable the student-teachers to develop awareness on the ‘learning through engagement and handicraft for life.’ A total of 98 Student-Teachers of the 2nd Semester (B.Ed) and seven Teacher Educators visited Khonoma village where they interacted with students of St John Bosco School, Khonoma. They also participated in collecting data from the community on unemployment, women empowerment, and other areas with the help of the Khonoma Village Council, President and student union members. They visited the Handloom industry, Black Smith industry, and craft industry.
