As a forerunner to the upcoming Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024, the NSS Unit of the ICFAI University Nagaland under the leadership of NSS-Nodal Officer, Dr Imtinungsang Jamir, Asst. Prof. & HoD (Management) conducted Cleanliness Drive in the Sovima

village on February 9. Students from the university’s NSS unit and Students’ Council joined hands for the drive. 

During the National Integration Tour organised by Assam Rifles, elderly members of Khiamniungan community from Noklak district, Nagaland witnessed both Static and CFF (Combat Freefall) jumps organised for them. The Paratroopers performed daring feats above the picturesque landscape. An AN-32 Aircraft dropped daredevils at 12050ft. The elders learned the importance of windspeed during the fall with drifter gauging the Dropping Zone. Around 200 paratroopers showcased their skills by jumping off the Aircraft. In a noble initiative aimed at promoting village authorities in implementation of women and children centric initiatives of the Government, the District Administration, Peren, in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Peren under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) declared four villages under Peren district as ‘Girl Child Friendly Village.’ The selected villages are Tening village, Samzuiram village, Old Puilwa village and Bongkolong village. Deputy Commissioner, Peren,Vineet Kumar, IAS handed over the certificates of appreciation and declaration to the selected village councils during the District Planning & Development Board meeting on February 7.
Department of Political Science, St Joseph University, Chümoukedima in collaboration with e-CIRCLE, carried out e-waste collection drive on February 9. The Collection drive was also part of the Community Engagement and Services course under NEP 2020, and plans are being made to conduct such a drive in nearby university wards and villages. Dr Achanger and Dr Moameren Pongen coordinated the collection drive with e-CIRCLE founder Bendangwala Walling and Sowete Letro.
