National Deworming Day was observed at Government Primary School, Molonsu, Wokha on March 14. Dr Lirenthung Khuvung, Medical Officer, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) spoke on the importance of taking Albendazole tablets for overall growth and development of a child. The RBSK team screened the school children for childhood diseases, development delays, deficiencies and disability. First aid and free medicines were provided during the screening. Dr Khuvung informed that Anganwadi workers and Accredited Social Health Activist will distribute deworming tablets to children at Anganwadi centres and schools in the district from March 14 to 26. The book titled ‘A TEXT ON PAUL TILLICH: Philosophy of Religion’ written by Dr T Jamedi Longkumer, Associate Professor, Department of Philosophy, Dimapur Government College (DGC) was released by DGC, Principal, Dr M Libanthung Ngullie on March 14.  During the programme, short speeches were given by DGC Principal, the Publisher Dr Lanusangla Tzudir, Heritage Publication House and the author. It was chaired by Sentinungla Pongen, Associate Professor, DGC.

A special lecture on ‘The Importance of Gender Based Research Interventions in Northeast India’ by Dr Meenal Tula, Post Doctoral Fellow (Funded by Swedish Research Council) was conducted on March 14 at Modern College, Kohima.
