The 2nd Baptist College Alumni meet cum dinner programme was convened at Baptist College Kohima on October 26. A new Alumni Association team was elected for the tenure 2022-2024 with Hika S Chishi as President, Tokibo N Wotsa as Vice President,  Larito H Yimchunger and Noami Kent as Secretary and the Assistant Secretary respectively, Imisangla Pongen as Information & Correspondence Secretary.

Tetso College, Dimapur in collaboration with M.L Dahanukar College, Mumbai held a student exchange programme from September 12 to 20 and October 10 to 18. The Mumbai group visited Nagaland on the first half of the programme and the Nagaland group visited Mumbai on the second half respectively. The group from Mumbai visited Nagaland Bamboo Development center, NEZCC and Hollotoli School. They also took trips to Raj Bhavan Kohima, Heritage Village and Khonoma Village. The group from Tetso College visited the Gateway of India, Mount Mary church, Juhu Beach. They also visited Atlas University and attending a 3D workshop organised by PTVA’s institute of management.

SUMMAN (Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan) scheme was launched by Dr Samuel Akho Konyak EAC Longleng district, Dr Obangjungla CMO Longleng, Dr Kibangkumba, MS DH Longleng on October 26. Dr S Imnameren Phom DIO (RCH/UIP) highlighted about the SUMMAN scheme and the service available. Dr Obangjungla CMO Longleng and Dr Samuel Akho Konyak EAC Longleng also spoke during the programme. A short note on being a responsible mother was shared by Angphen, Women Secretary, Phom Baptist Christian Association.

R Khing, Advisor for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, and Women Resources Development with T Semy, OSD to Chief Minister, Dr Zasekuolie Chusi, Tseminyu Deputy Commissioner, NDPP party leaders, various government officials and village leaders during the inauguration of Panchayat Hall, Thongsunyu on October 27.

The Patkai Reading Writing Club (PRWC) organised a reading session in memory of Lt Dr Temsula Ao on October 27 at Patkai Christian College, Autonomous. Bauna Panmei, Assistant Professor History department, PCC and supervisor, PRWC gave the introductory note to the session. The reading of Temsula Ao’s story, The Pot Maker, taken from ‘These Hills Called Home: Stories from a war zone’ was led by Charity Shohe, member PRWC. In remembrance of the late Sahitya Akademi award recipient, Akangsenla Jamir, Assistant Professor English department PCC presented a poem titled “October” from the late writer's collection of poems, "Book of Songs".

A skill development programme for promoting vocational skills amongst students was organised at zapa Indoor stadium, Japfü Christian College on October 27. Chef Kekruwhelie Rhütsu, Sushi Chef for Royal Caribbean Cruise gave Master Class on Sushi preparation. He had earlier worked with Taj Hotels, Shangri-la and St Regis, Starwood Company. Dr Visakhonü Hibo, Principal, JCC conducted a demonstration on Japanese and English floral arrangement.

Three-day workshop on managing difficult behaviours among children and therapies used to handle them concluded with a valedictory function in NEISSR on October 27. Fr Dr CP Anto, principal NEISSR appreciated Dr Sr Joan Chunkapura and Fr Dr Mathew Thuniampral for facilitating the sessions. In a move towards a cleaner and greener town, the Niuland Town Council (NTC) has initiated a ‘Freedom from Garbage’ campaign by organising a workshop on Scientific Management of Waste. T Lemlila Sangtam, Administrator, NTC asserted, “Because we believe, together we can and together we will.” The workshop ended with enrolment of Campaign Volunteers for follow up. (DIPR Photo)
