Department of Mass Communication of Patkai Christian College (PCC) launched the 3rd edition of its photography exhibition under the theme ‘All That Meets Our Gaze’ at the UGC pathway of the New Campus on March 15. It was inaugurated by Dr Thepfüvilie Pierü, Principal, PCC. Attendees including students, faculty members, and visitors from outside were treated to a showcase of 27 photographs exhibited by the 2nd year Mass Communication students. The students guided and engaged with the audience, providing insights into the displayed photographs and addressing queries from staff members and visitors. All 27 frames displayed were sold in a span of 4 hours.
Laying of the foundation stone for the first Mini Tea Factory at Tchu-Nli, Niroyo Village under Wokha district was held on March 15. The foundation stone was laid by Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan. The inauguration programme was organised mainly for Wokha District Small Tea Grower's Association (WDSTGA) under the supervision of Shishoi Oshom-ETF, Cell Wokha supported by Shishoi Oshom-ETF, Cell Wokha. The initiative focus on empowering tea growers by providing skill training in tea packaging to the growers, in partnership with the Tea Board, Golaghat. Furthermore, it extends support for marketing and branding of tea from Wokha.As a part of the curriculum under NEP 2020 CBCS, the Department of Political Science, Fazl Ali College in partnership with Clark Centre for Peace Research and Action (CCPRA), Clark Theological College, Aolijen, Mokokchung organised an interactive case study analysis. The Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) students of Semester IV through role play negotiated on community policing & conflict resolution, dispute over environmental conservation & interfaith dialogue & understanding. The event judges were CTC faculty Rev Dr A Tali Ao, Dr Tsuknungrenla and Moasenla.ICFAI University Nagaland’s 3rd edition of IUN Youth Festival 2024 was held on March 15 with Sashila Ozukum, Administrator (Hope Academy) as the special guest. IUN Vice Chancellor, Professor (Dr) Saundarjya Borbora delivered the welcome address. A variety of events were organised during this annual event including concert, poetry slam, drama competition, dance competition, recycled crafts, arm wrestling, mobile games, painting, cosplay, photography exhibition and book fair. Photography exhibition and workshop were organised in collaboration with Photography Club Dimapur. A special performance was presented by Chomoükedima Dance and Fits Studio. Guest band EXI and Abdon Mech enthralled the gathering with their music. Students from various colleges and institutions across the State participated in the event. The Department of Economics, Immanuel College, Dimapur headed by HOD, S Temsusenla Ao organised one-day workshop on World Consumer Rights Day on March 15 at the College Conference Hall. Adv. Kumchuba, Penal Lawyer, Dimapur District Legal Authority and Adv Otoli Kits, Gauhati High Court and its Subordinates Courts were the resource persons. Adv Kumchuba spoke on the topic 'Understanding Consumer Rights' and Adv Otoli Kitsenlightened the students from thetheme of the day, 'Fair and responsible AI for consumers'.JN Aier College, Diphupar held ‘Blyth Fiesta’ on the theme ‘Celebrating our Tradition’ from March 12-14. Various literary cum art, cultural dances and traditional games were competed among the eight guardianship of the College. On the last day of the fiesta, Limatemjen, Principal exhorted the students. Mr. Atsumong Tikhir and Wonchano Patton of B.A 6th semester were crowned as Mr & Miss Blyth 2024. Amongst the eight guardianship, Pestalozzi guardianship emerged champion and Quintus Horatius as the runners up. Department of Political Science, Modern College, Piphema had observed world consumers rights day by organizing a legal awareness programme on March 15 at its auditorium. Chongliu and Laknyei Phom, both Advocate, Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench were the resource persons on the topic ‘Cyber Law’ and ‘Consumer Rights’ respectively. Students along with faculty attended the programme. Assam Rifles distributed essential items to including 15 bookshelves and 50 books for renovation and modernisation of library at St Joseph’s College, Jakhama under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme on March 14.
