The National Domestic Workers Movement (NDWM) in collaboration with Assisi Center for Integrated Development (ACID) celebrated children’s day on the theme ‘My family: my heart’ in Assisi Auditorium  on November 12. Sr. The programme was participated by NDWM – Child Participation Group members. They put up cultural items like, dance, skit and role play creating the awareness on the importance of education, ill effects of child labour.

Ajit Kumar Ranjan IAS, Deputy Commissioner Wokha on Saturday visited villages under Lotsu circle, Wokha district accompanied by Litsenthung kikon EAC Lotsu, Er Daniel H Lotha SDO CAWD, C Yanthan, LDM Wokha district along with Lotsu Circle Village Council Chairman Union. The team led by the DC Wokha inspected the various ongoing developmental works under the Lotsu circle and interacted with the SHG, VLO, GBs and the public. The DC Wokha highlighted various welfare schemes and programmes implemented by the government and assured the public to address the central gaps in the public service delivery mechanism playing the area.

Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) inter house marathon was conducted on November 12. In the event, which was flagged off by Gp Capt RK Yadav, Principal, SSP, the cadets of different houses were categorised in Group A comprising of class X and XI (5000 meter) and Group B comprising of class VIII and IX (5000 meter). In Group A category, Cadet S Rito secured the first position followed by Cadet Sukhru in second position and Cadet Ghuinato stood third. In Group B Cadet Yazei Konyak secured first position, Cadet Musho B stood second and Cadet Akash Kumar stood third. The event also witnessed staff participation. Gp Capt RK Yadav presented the certificates and medals to all the winners.

The blood bank at Hezükhu Memorial District Hospital, Zunheboto was inaugurated by minister for Agriculture, G Kaito Aye on November 12. The blood bank is an initiative by Hans Foundation, District Administration and Planning Board, stated a DIPR report. Minister G Kaito Aye, Brig SS Kataria from the Hans Foundation and Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, IAS spoke during the function. St Mary’s Hr Sec School, Dimapur celebrated its 31st Annual Day on November 11 and 12. Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher Education, Tribal Affairs & State President, BJP, Nagaland was the chief guest with other special guests and dignitaries including Basu Damani, Vice President of BJP Nagaland, Arvind Damani, National Executive Member of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Meghalaya, Swapan Paul, Advocate Kohima Bench and Dr S Debnath. Children performed various dance items, songs & drama with parents present, at SK Dutta Auditorium.

Department of Mathematics, St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama in collaboration with Commission for Education Diocese of Kohima conducted All Nagaland State Level Math Quiz Competition for class 10 students (NBSE) under the theme ‘eliminating fear, thinking logically’ on November 12. A total of 16 schools participated from Dimapur, Mokokchung, Longleng and Kohima. The event was graced by Rev Fr Dr Jacob Charalel, Secretary CEDOK. The first position was secured by Muna Kumar and Richard Kuotsu from Modern School, Kohima, followed by Metejopinu Khanyo and Aleena Ann Abey from Little Flower HSS, Kohima and third place was won by Supongmenla Kichu and Likhuli Sangtam from Queen Mary’s HSS, Mokokchung. The winners received cash prizes along with certificates.

Innerwheel Club of Dimapur organised a free dental check-up camp at Government Middle School, Lhomithi Colony, Signal Bazaar where two dentist Dr Deepika Jain and Dr Megha Jain rendered there free service by checking 60 students of the school.
