The BMMU Bhandari block celebrated International Women’s Day under the theme Inspire Inclusion’ with Rose Yanthan, NPS, Asst. Commandant, 7th NAP Bn. Bhandari as chief guest. A special song was performed by the Cherry SHG and Bihu Traditional Dance presentation by special invitee Assamese SHG.
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK)-Phek, (ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema) in collaboration with ICAR-Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur conducted Promotion of Pulses on the occasion of International Women’s Day at KVK Phek, Porba. Dr Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Senior Scientist and Head KVK, Phek, delivered the welcome address. Major Sachit Sharma, 45 AR, Pfutsero as a special guest spoke on ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.’ Dr Hannah K Asangla, Chief Technical Officer, explained the importance of pulse production. Dr T Esther, Chief Technical Officer, spoke on organic farming. On behalf of farmers, Nuzolu spoke on low-cost potato storage and how it benefited their SHG. The programme was attended by 100 women farmers from Lasumi, Yoruba, Chesezu, Thipizu, Thetsumi, Porba, and Pholami. Women Department of Liangmai Baptist Church (LBC) Dimapur and Liangmai Baptist Phumling Maipui Aruang (LBPMA) Toulazouma observed the International Women’s Day 2024 at Hotel Saramati Dimapur. Resource Persons Liangsi Niumai, Advocate & Director, C-CERP Dimapur spoke on the theme “Inspire Inclusion” while Dr Chamzai Newmai, Medical Officer, UPHC BC, Dimapur spoke on “Common Health Problems in Women”. Earlier, Meningthui, Women Leader, LBPMA Toulazouma pronounced invocation, Gindau Newmai, President, LBA Women Department greeted the gathering while Aruiliu Newmai and LBPMA Toulazouma presented special numbers. Vote of thanks was proposed by Akinniu, Advisor, LBPMA, Toulazouma.Sangtamtilla VLO under NSRLM BMMU Dhansiripar celebrated International Women’s Day at Sangtamtilla village under the theme ‘Inspire Inclusion’. The resource person, Takuangla Jamir, Co-founder of Liden (A digital marketing agency) spoke on the inclusiveness of women through equal access to opportunities and resources; representation and participation in decision making; and celebrating diversity. She reminded that inclusion begins at home and encouraged all to include and invest in our women. The BMMU Dhansiripar felicitated the VLO For their outstanding contribution and dedication against Gender Based Violence. A total of 99 participants attended the programme.The three-day annual sports and games meet of St John Bosco School, Khonoma had concluded on March 9. The sports meet was inaugurated on March 7 with Dr Gomesh Mosahary, Principal Sazolie College of Teachers Education, Jotsoma as chief guest. Rev Fr Solomon Vizo (Headmaster) gave the welcome note. Exciting races and closely contested matches kept the audience on the edge of their seats throughout the days. The sports day meet was a resounding success, showcasing the incredible talent, dedication and sportsmanship of all the participants, a press note from St John Bosco School informed. The national tournament was held at Bhubaneswar from March 4 to 8, informed a press release from the Nagaland Lawn Tennis Association (NLTA). Peren District Sports Council organised a felicitation programme for medal winners at the recently concluded 3rd Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024 at DC's Conference Hall, Peren on March 8 with Dy CM, TR Zeliang as the special guest.
