Official District chairman Geeta Sarin visited Inner Wheel Club of Dimapur district on April 2. The day started by inauguration of Breast Feeding Kiosk in Dimapur Railway Station by Geeta Sarin, followed by distribution of 170 school bags to the students of GMS Chakhesang colony. District Chairman Geeta Sarin and District Secretary, Pinky Agrawal also visited Blue Star School Singrijan where they inaugurated Sanitary Pad Vending and incinerator machine. In the evening, a general meeting was held at Rotary Center, Dimapur.
Kohima District Congress Committee, along with six Assembly Constituency Congress Committees under its jurisdiction held a Coordination meeting with PCC President and INC & INDIA candidate S Supongmeren Jamir, at Congress Bhavan, Kohima on April 4. A range of issues were discussed and critical campaign strategies in connection with the April 19 slated Lok Sabha Polls were adopted during the meeting.
The Assam Rifles HQ IGAR (North) organised a tree plantation drive at Church Colony in Zunheboto Town on April 5, with a focus on sustainability and community involvement. The initiative was aimed to mitigate deforestation and enhance green cover and promote environmental awareness among scholars of Zunheboto Government College. The event witness by 50 students and 75 members of Zunheboto Town showcased collective efforts by planting 350 saplings highlighting the impact of community involvement. Besides the plantation drive, information session was also conducted to raise awareness about the role of trees in combating climate change, prevention of soil erosion and maintenance of overall ecosystem.
