Community Health Nursing Department, College of Nursing, CIHSR in collaboration with Health and Wellness Centre, Diezephe village organised World Health Day celebration at Diezephe Council Hall on April 12. It was sponsored by Macleods Pharmaceuticals Ltd TB Care Division Dimapur. Dr Imtiwapang, SMO, Singrijan PHC briefed the gathering on the theme ‘health for all.’ Imsutola Jamir, Clinical Dietician, CIHSR spoke on importance of nutrition and its impact on health. Government Middle School, Diezephe students performed a play on good and bad habits. Altogether 80 people participated in the event which concluded ended with ZUMBA session.


On account of the observance of World Oral Cancer screening month, a camp for school children on oral health was organised at Little Flower School and Government Primary School, Pungro, Kiphire on April 12. The screening camp was organized by the medical team of Pungro Community Health Center (CHC) led by Dr Weri Mero, Medical Officer, CHC. Altogether 997 students were screened for Oral Cancer and a minor dental procedure was also provided to them. Apart from the screening, the students were also sensitized on oral health. (DIPR Photo)

Nagaland state branch, Indian Red Cross Society donated relief materials to the fire victims of Burma Camp East Block in Dimapur on April 12. The Nagaland Red Cross team from Kohima delivered 100 blankets, 50 tarpaulin and 50 hygiene kits. The colony chairman, Lumdibe Zeliang, colony youth president, Mhonthung Lotha and their team assisted the relief materials distribution. Dimapur Red Cross, Honorary Secretary & Vice-Chairman, Ajay Sethi; Secretary Kamala Kanta Paul; and the colony chairman also spoke during the occasion. The Dimapur Red Cross donated cash to the daughter of the deceased victim.

Sovima Village Council (SVC) paid a courtesy call on CL John, Minister for Environment and Climate Change, at his residence in Pheluo Khel, Sovima on April 12 and apprised him of the programme of SVC to make the village green and clean; plantation drives the council had undertaken in the last few years. The Council shared on the requirement for more saplings in the coming months.
