Sümi Patriots Day, observed annually to honour the patriots during the death anniversary of late General Kaito Sukhai was commemorated at Sümi Patriots Memorial Rock, Zunheboto on August 4. Leaders from various Sümi organizations gathered to pay homage to the Sümi Patriots. The programme was led by Sümi Hoho Vice President, Kikheto Muru. Following the floral tribute and obituary reference, short speeches were delivered by Sümi Hoho President, Dr Vihuto Asumi and Sümi Kükami Hoho President, Hetoho Zhimomi. The vote of thanks was given by Sümi Kiphimi Küqhakulu Assistant General Secretary, Pito Swu. The Assam Rifles Kohima Battalion organised a tree plantation and soil conservation drive at Kezo Town Middle School recently. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 45 students and 4 teachers under the theme ‘Ek Peed Ek Naam.’Rupin Sharma, DGP Nagaland inaugurates the renovated washroom at PHQ, Kohima on August 2. This facility was initiated by Rotary Club Kohima.Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima organised a Faculty Development Program on ‘Enhancing ICT Competencies’ at the MITE conference hall on August 3. Dr M Rajendra Nath Babu, Associate Professor, Department of Education, Nagaland University was the resource person. Dr. Babu emphasised the critical role of ICT in modern education and encouraged faculty members to leverage various ICT platforms to enhance teaching and learning experiences. He highlighted the importance of research and publication, stressing the need for quality over quantity in research output.
