District team of NVBDCP, IDSP and IEC visited all the health units under Longleng District from February 18-26 as a part of continuing monitoring and surveillance. During the visit, the team cross-checked daily OPD reporting and NRCP format, re- orientation of the health care workers on IHIP, NRCP and NPCHH, checked M format, updated on stock register and trained the lab technician followed by proper use of LLIN.

A guest seminar and interaction was conducted by Department of Agricultural Engineering and Technology at School of Engineering and Technology, Kohima Campus, Nagaland University on February 27. Prof Brajesh Kumar Dubey from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur was the invited speaker. In his presentation on “Mitigating Plastic Pollution: Challenges, Sustainable Solutions, and Policy Imperatives”, Prof Dubey emphasised the various aspects of plastic pollution and their associated problems. Following the seminar, Prof Sujata Dash and Prof Prabhakar Sharma interacted with Prof Dubey to explore future collaborations between Nagaland University and IIT Kharagpur.
A group of 24 students from FGI College of Agricultural Sciences, Henbung, Kangpokpi, Manipur, accompanied by two faculty members, engaged in an educational tour to School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University (SAS, NU), Medziphema Campus on February 24. They visited the Entomology Insect Museum, Plant Pathology Disease Museum, and All India Coordinated Research Project on Honeybee Pollinators. The visit was coordinated by Dr Rokozeno, Guest Faculty, Department of Entomology and Dr Tsarila ZT Sangtam, Guest Faculty, Department of Livestock Production and Management SAS, NU, Medziphema Campus.
