In view of the forthcoming Angami Sekrenyi festival to be celebrated under the aegis of Angami Public Organisation (APO) on February 24, a mass social work was organised by Chakhroma Public Organisation at State Stadium, near Dimapur Government College on January 27. Hundreds of CPO members participated in cleaning the main venue. The APO Sekrenyi Organising Committee also executed a meeting in the stadium for smooth conduct of the festival. The Development of Pilgrimage Facilitation under Prashad Scheme 2019-20 was inaugurated at Noksen by Keduosie-u Metha, Director, Tourism, Nagaland on January 27. The programme was chaired by Moatemsu Sangtam, Sr Tourist Officer, Tuensang. Dr. Alen, Pastor Noksen Baptist Church pronounced dedicatory prayer. Technical Report was given by Er Vizotuo Seletsu, Executive Engineer Tourism while vote of thanks was proposed by Yongkong Chingmak, chairman Noksen Village Council.

Vizotuo Seletsu, Executive Engineer, Tourism while vote of thanks was proposed by N. Renpi Kikon, Landowner chairman Vankhosung.
In a heartwarming act, the youth members of Ao Baptist Church, Wokha, led by the Associate Youth Pastor Lanuwapang were seen providing tea and snacks to shopkeepers, vegetable vendors, traffic police and labourers on January 27. This community service was acknowledged with appreciation from the public. Sharing briefly about the act, Lanuwapang informed that the church youth ministry initiates social services annually. Last year, the ministry initiated social service at hospitals. “This year, we wanted to extend service with gratitude and love to daily wage earners,” he shared. (Morung Photo)
Continuing the team work under ‘Illuminating Lives’ Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Schneider Electric Foundation India and Sunbird Trust distributed 118 solar lights to the residents of Chingnyu village and 175 lights to the people of Dan village on the occasion of Republic day. “This initiative under CSR aims to bring sustainable and reliable lighting solutions to enhance the quality of life for the residents. These high-quality and high-performance lights will help the locals in their day to day household chores and for children education in remote and underdeveloped villages of Nagaland,” PRO, HQ IGAR (North) stated in a press release.
