Nagaland: News in pictures - July 08, 2020

As part of the initiative by the Assam Rifles in reaching out to the needy residents, residing in remote villages, Jalukie Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised an 'Umbrella Campaign' on July 8. Umbrellas were distributed to physically challenged, widows the aged with strict compliance to social distancing, whilst encouraging residents to religiously adhere to COVID-19 restrictions. Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a medical camp at Akuhaiqa village on July 7. The aim of the medical camp was to provide free medical consultation and treatment for minor ailments to the local residents devoid of requisite medical facilities, especially the aged. Chingnyu is a remote village in Mon district on Eastern most fringes of the country bordering Myanmar with negligible infrastructure. Cognizant of the need for basic infrastructure for organising social/customary gatherings, Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) constructed a Community Hall and handed it over to the village functionaries of Chingnyu.  (Photo Courtesy: HQ IGAR North)
