Advisor for Food &Civil supplies and Legal Metrology, KT Sukhalu and Advisor for Land resources, G Ikuto Zhimo visited the major landslide areas at Alahuto, Old Town and North Point colonies. Advisor KT Sukhalu also extended monetary help to the effected families.
An Orientation Program was organized by Phek Government College for the first semester students on July 11 at Deo Nukhu Hall. A brief talk was delivered by Vevolu Khamo, Assistant Professor, Department of Education on the norms and regulation of the institution. Neiwe Mero and Dr H Atoholi Sema presented a brief outline to the New Education Policy and syllabus structure for B.A & BSc programme. Introduction to various existing clubs, cells and committees like NCC, NSS, Red Cross, Red Ribbon, Literary & Performing Arts, Skill Development Club, Science Club and Mentoring were also highlighted upon to the students. The programme was attended by faculty members and the 1st semester students.
Gorkha Students’ Union Dimapur in collaboration Gorkha Youth Club Dimapur celebrated 210th Bhanu Jayanti cum Felicitation programme at Christian Hr Sec School hall in Dimapur. The programme started with invocation by Shishir Lama, Youth Secretary, Association of the Gorkha Baptist Churches Nagaland and welcome address by Prem Lama, President, GYCD. Suraj Rai Vice President, Nagaland Gorkha Association addressed the gathering highlighting the significance of contribution of Adi Kavi Acharya Bhanu Bhakta Acharya. During the occasion, presentation of HSLC & HSSLC felicitation and Cultural session were also held.
The Assam Rifles organised a mass tree plantation drive in Niroyo Village, Wokha on July 11. The plantation drive saw participation from local residents, community leaders, and environmental enthusiasts, all united in their mission to enhance the green cover of the region. The event was marked by the planting of over 400 saplings of various indigenous species promoting biodiversity and combating climate change.
The Phek District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PDCCI) organised a felicitation programme for all the 11 newly elected councillors of Phek Town Council on July 11 at PABCC Conference Hall, Phek Town.
