Chang Students’ Union Tuensang Town (CSUTT) conducted a surprise checking of expired goods in shops located in and around Tuensang town and destroyed the seized items on July 22. The Union warned the shopkeepers not to sell expired goods, CSD items, or goods with a tampered price tag. The union has also requested the public to be more cautious while purchasing products.
The Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (CBCK) organized a thanksgiving service for competitive exam achiever, Er Vevotolu Kezo, selected as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer recently. Rev Dr Kevekhalo Lasuh, senior pastor CBCK led the thanksgiving service and blessed her.
The Assam Rifles, on July 22, seized 20 tons (approximate) of areca nuts worth approximately Rs 2.4 crore from National Highway-2 near Kigwema. An official release from the HQ IGAR (North) informed that items were being smuggled through from Manipur to Nagaland in two trucks. The recovered items were handed over to the Customs Department, Kohima for further legal proceedings.
