Kiphire to Tuensang national highway has been blocked by major landslide at Near Yakor village (between Yakor and Saddle) on June 28.

AK Prem Kumar, Inspector, Company Commander, Home Guards, Civil Defence and State Disaster Response Force alongwith D Angami of Nagaland Fire Department visited the NCC Camp and conducted an interactive lecture and demonstration for the cadets attending CATC-29 at Sazolie College, Jotsoma on June 28. The lecture and demonstration on Disaster Management conducted by the State Disaster Relief Force focused on the importance of executing an evacuation, rescue and fire fighting as a primary protective action, regardless of threat or hazard. Assam Rifles prevented illegal transportation of approximately 80 tons of Areca Nuts worth Rs 10 crore approx on June 27 from National Highway 29 in Kohima town of Nagaland. The items were being smuggled from Jessami towards Dimapur in two DI vehicles (Pick up vehicles) and 3 Tata trucks. Assam Rifles apprehended two individuals smuggling 14068 bottles of liquor of worth Rs 67 lakh into Mokokchung district of Nagaland on June 28.
