Under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity for the year 2023-2024, Canara Bank Kohima provided RO drinking water facility to Modern College on March 27.
In order to extend comprehensive healthcare assistance and provide essential medicines to the locals of Dihoma village of Kohima district, the 13 Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Dihoma under Op Sadhvavna project on March 26. 142 people underwent general health check up and medical examination by the Doctor and Medical Staff of Assam Rifles. Essential medicines were also distributed to the locals.Department of Home Guards & Civil Defence along with the State Disaster Response Force Mon conducted training on disaster management for students and staff of Government Higher Secondary School, Mon on March 27. During the training, personnel of Home Guards & Civil Defence and State Disaster Response Force lead by Lipoksashi Aier demonstrated on CPR, bandaging and emergency method of rescuing under the supervision of Company Commander, Lichemse Sangtam. (DIPR Photo)The Science Department of Phek Government College undertook ‘Educational tour’ on March 26. The team visited Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar and Science Centre, Dimapur. The team comprises 13 students from B.Sc 2nd, 4th and 6th semesters under the guidance of Assistant Professors Mughato K Kiba, Vedulu Thingo and Dr H Aoholi Sema. The visit to the Centres enhanced the student's knowledge of wildlife, conservation efforts and also fostered scientific curiosity and exploration among students.Zip Engineering & Innovation Centre (ZEIC) Chümoukedima held a Sound Management & Media Production workshop for church operators and supporting staffs on March 21 at Mangolemba Baptist Chruch. Sungkum Changkiri, Kibolong Imsong and Luin LKR from ZEIC team were the resource person. Topic on Church sound management & Media production such as set-up, Photography, live broadcasting and other various skill set related production techniques were taught. Altogether 21 participants took part in one day workshop. ZEIC also provides crash courses for Churches and live sound.
The Oriental College, Kohima has fixed the last working day of every month to be utilised for staff mental wellness and physical fitness activities. The fitness programme was introduced for the teachers to create a supportive and positive teaching environment that promotes well-being. The toll on teacher’s mental health can result in stress, uninvited ailments, anger displacement and anxiety. Therefore, enhanced mental well-being and physical fitness can ensure that teachers not only give their efforts to their work but also inculcate to live a happy and healthy life, the college source stated. In this regard, the College staff engages in certain activities like playing table - tennis, Badminton, carom, chess or do aerobic and Zumba dance.
