Yemhi Memorial College, Dimapur conducted its 2nd edition cultural and literary fest at the college premises with Kahuto Chishi Sumi Spokesperson, Nagaland GB Federation as the special guest on March 7. In the second session, literary competition started with poetry competition. Voice of Yemhians Season 1 was also introduced, followed by indigenous games competitions such as fats eating, snail eating & bamboo pole climbing.

Zeliangrong Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) in collaboration with the All Nagaland Polytechnic Students’ Association and Polytechnic Institute Peren organised a one-day seminar on Polytechnic courses and their significance. The seminar was attended by representatives from 29 federating units of ZSUN. During the event, officials from the Polytechnic Institute provided insights into polytechnic courses. 
Western Angami Public Organisation (WAPO) officials, along with the Minister for Horticulture and Women Resource development of Nagaland, Salhoutuonuo Kruse, Area Elders, GBs and chairmen of Villages, visited the Chief Minister, Dr Neiphiu Rio at his Residence on March 10. They congratulated him on his being conferred the Honorary Doctorate Degree of Letters (Honoris Causa) by the North East Christian University (NECU) Dimapur, in recognition of his contributions towards social upliftment of the Naga society. Director of Agriculture, S Yongchang Phom inaugurated the Custom Hiring Centre at State Seed Farm, Merapani, Wokha on March 8. The Custom Hiring Centre was constructed under National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm (2024-25). The Director was accompanied by Z Hukhato Sema, Joint Director and Ronchamo Kikon, Deputy Director and Programme Officer NMEO-OP.
The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu organised an awareness programme on HIV/AIDS and substance abuse with the theme “Take the Right Path: My Health, My Right” at the college auditorium on March 7. Dr Gihuka Chishi, Medical Officer at PHC Atoizu spoke on the prevention and effects of HIV/AIDS and substance abuse. Dr Gihuka Chishi and his team offered free HIV/Syphillis, HBSAg, HCV and Haemoglobin testing, with many students volunteering to get tested, demonstrating their commitment to taking proactive steps for their health.
In an effort to explore the potential of event management in Nagaland and equip students with essential skills, the Department of Mass Communication, Patkai Christian College (PCC) hosted a workshop on ‘Event Management: Conceptualization to Execution’ on March 10. The session was conducted by Khakhuli Chishi, Social Media Coordinator at Kaki Marketing, who is also an alumna of PCC Mass Communication Department. Chishi shared reflections on her experiences working with diverse clients and meeting their expectations at Kaki Marketing currently the marketing and media partner of the ongoing Nagaland Super League. She provided students with practical strategies for promoting events, covering key aspects such as poster design, layout planning, and video promotions tailored to attract clients and ensure successful execution.
The Department of Physics, Nagaland University, conducted two-day national workshop on fundamental aspects of Nano Horizon on March 6 and 7. NU Vice Chancellor, Prof Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The resource persons for the workshop were Prof A Srinivasan, Director, Central Institute of Technology Kokrajhar & Senior Professor, IIT Guwahati, and Prof Arunav Chakrabarti, Former Professor, Presidency University, Kolkata. The workshop featured a series of lectures by speakers in the field of nano-science and nanotechnology. Discussions included quasiperiodic crystals and topological insulators, along with expert talks and interactive sessions, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of nano-science and its applications.
The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, graced the Border Area Programme, at Kimin, Arunachal Pradesh on March 8. The event was organised by the North East Zonal Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur in collaboration with the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, with cultural performances from the states of Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan attended the ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ programme on March 6 at Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh, as the chief guest. Prof SK Nayak, Vice Chancellor of RG, was the guest of honour, stated a press release received here. Cultural troupes from the state of Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Assam performed at the event. The programme was organised by NEZCC, Dimapur in collaboration with the department of Art & Culture, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
45 cadets of National Cadet Corps (NCC) of Tetso College, Dimapur undertook a cleanliness drive at Dzukou Valley on March 8 and 9. Cadets of 1 Nagaland Battalion NCC and 24 Nagaland (I) Company under the aegis of Group HQ Kohima participated in the cleanliness driver organised to commemorate the World Wildlife Day. The NCC cadets also observed the World Wildlife Day during the drive on March 9. The event was officially launched on March 6  at Tetso College by the Principal and Director.
‘Murti Film Creation’ Nagaland “re-released” the movie ‘Run (Daud)’ which was originally released in the year 2017. “Due to public demand”, a press release said, “the movie has been re-released” at Tourist Lodge auditorium, Dimapur on March 8. In the movie written and directed by Shiva Kumar BK and produced by T Martha Ao, the star casts in lead roles were Karan Kartic and Yana Saklani. The event was graced by Nzanbeni Humtsoe, Councillor, Dimapur Municipal Council and Er Rabinderjit Singh, Businessman as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. To commemorate the International Women’s day, the Bharat Vikas Parishad Dimapur Branch honoured Martha Ao Yadav, President Director of Murti Film Creation, Dimapur for inspiring and empowering women as role model and fro being the driving force behind the Murti Film Creation (film production group).
The National Mathematics Day Celebration 2025 was held at St Xavier Higher Secondary School Shamator with the theme ‘Mathematics: Bridge to Innovation. Organised by Nagaland Science & Technology Council, Department of Science & Technology Government of Nagaland, it was sponsored by National Council for Science & Technology Communication, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
