Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School (PVHSS) Dimapur organised orientation programme-2024 at Pranab Jubilee Auditorium on May 13. In introductory address, PVHSS Principal, Monoj Bhattacharjee welcomed the parents, guardians and all the HSLC successful students coming from different schools in Nagaland who took admission in class-11 in PVHSS, Dimapur. Bhattacharjee congratulated all the qualified students and also encouraged the students that ‘this is the beginning and many such successes will follow them.’ Chairman of PVHSS, Swami Chinmayanandaji Maharaj also addressed the programme. The Incharge of Science Stream, Partha Sarathi Deb highlighted the Rules of the school. The students were informed that the regular classes will begin from May 15.
A medical camp on mental health awareness was held at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) hostel Chessore, Shamator on May 12. Medical Officer, PHC Chessore, Dr Kumrimong. T Yimchunger highlighted the importance of mental health and ways to tackle it. A series of demonstration of personal health hygiene habits like steps were taught. Various aids and appliances supplied by ALIMCO Bhopal under Ministry of social welfare Delhi were distributed to 31 beneficiaries in Zunheboto on May 13. The aids and appliances included wheelchairs, walking sticks, rolla for size II adults, BTE H aid along with batteries, sugamya cane, crutch elbow size II, crutch axilla (m) and cell phone for leprosy patients through ADIP Scheme under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Principal IETC & Director SAMETI, Dr Watimongla Jamir spoke during the occasion. In commemoration of Plant Health Day, tree bean (Parkia Roxburghii) saplings treated with biofertilizers- Azotobacter, Rhizobium and Phosphotika and Biofungicides-Trichoderma herzanium were planted in the IETC demonstration farm. Also Tricho cards (egg parasitoids) trichogramma chilonis and trichogramma pretiosum were released in the maize field for management of maize pests like stem borer and FAW.
