
Mon Battalion of 27 Assam Rifles apprehended four individuals smuggling 1836 bottles of IMFL worth Rs 14,68,800 into Mon district of Nagaland. A press release from the 27 AR stated that the individuals were smuggling liquor in 01 x Bolero Pick up and 01 x Bolero passenger vehicle. “The smugglers were caught during an area domination patrol carried out by Assam Rifles,” it added.
A welcome programme for the newly appointed Chairman of Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC) Ltd, Prasielie Pienyü was held at its head office, Nagarjan, Dimapur on May 17. In his address, Pienyü emphasised on the importance of handloom and handicrafts, particularly for the Naga society. He solicited the support and cooperation of the officers and staff to work cohesively to help the Naga artisans and craftsman and take the corporation to greater heights. The programme was chaired by the Managing Director, Vitsutho Nyuthe, who also delivered the welcome address.

Naga Students’ Union Dibrugarh (NSUD) organised a farewell programme for the outgoing students on May 13. The programme was attended by students, NSUD advisors, and elders. Dr Bendangjungshi, pastor, Naga Christian Fellowship Dibrugarh (NCFD) encouraged the outgoing students and offered a special prayer for them. A total of 13 outgoing students were felicitated at the farewell programme.

Sibra Bismai Bosong (Dimasa Kachari Religious Organisation) in association with Akhil Bharatiya Banvasi Kalyan Ashram organised a Hidimba (Hidimdi) Mata Darshan Yatra, Manali 2023 from May 10 to 20. Altogether 96 members from Assam and Nagaland participated at the yatra.
