Delhi Public School Dimapur (DPSD) organised a felicitation ceremony for the AISSCE (Class XII) achievers 2023 at the school assembly hall on May 27. SI Jamir, Chairman, DiPSS, Dr Aotoshi, Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS Dimapur, student achievers along with their parents attended the function. BK Nanda, Principal, DPSD welcomed the gathering. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Aotoshi commended the students for their achievement. Vibeli K Achumi (Arts) topped the school result with her personal best of 98%. The overall school average is at 80%. Altogether 75 students were felicitated with cash awards, certificates and bouquets. Two students scoring 95% and above were given cash awards of Rs 25,000 each and 15 students scoring 90%-94.8% were given Rs 15,000 each.
Mokokchung observed Menstrual Hygiene day at General Nursing and Mid Wifery Hostel and different Health Units of Mokokchung district on May 28. Speaking briefly on menstrual hygiene, Dr Imsongienla, RBSK said that the idea of observing the day is to dedicate a day where people talk about this issue which is usually not spoken about and to create awareness about the menstrual hygiene management. Awareness on the importance of menstruation, menstrual hygiene, use and proper disposal of sanitary product was given followed by distribution of sanitary pads. Phek district observed menstrual hygiene day at Govt Residential Hostel Phek Town under the theme ‘Making Menstruation a normal fact of Life by 2030 on May 29. Dr Chikhopalu Vese, MO RBSK Phek as the resource person highlighted the adolescent girls on the significance of menstrual hygiene day. She talked on the importance of menstrual hygiene practices such as using clean and safe menstrual products, maintaining good personal hygiene. She also informed the girls the products that ensure hygiene during monthly menstruation, the safety guidelines one must follow during menstruation like washing hygiene before and after using menstrual products, changing of sanitary pad every 4-8 hours etc. To mark the day sanitary pads were given to all the adolescent girls. The day was also observed across the districts in the health units and blocks.
Kevidi Linyii (Panda) and Chathavituo Mepfhuo won medals at the National Strongman & Powerlifting Championship held in Panchkula, Chandigarh on May 27. Linyii won Gold in NPC Sub Junior Heavyweight powerlifting and another I Gold and 2 silver in Indian Strongman open Men’s Super heavyweight category. Mepfhuo won two Gold in the sub junior categories from 90 kg to 100 kg in the power lifting and dead lifting categories.
Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) chairman Theja Meru paid a courtesy visit to Sovan Lal Saha, Managing Director, Indian Record at Kolkata on May 27. They discussed various partnerships for the promotion of music and musicians in Nagaland and North East region. Meanwhile, Meru thanked Nagaland’s Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his constant guidance and push to continually pursue partnerships with corporate houses and stake holders of the music and arts industry and to see that the vision of the state and department is being fulfilled and the goals are met.
