International Red Cross Day was commemorated in Mokokchung under the theme “Keeping Humanity Alive” at Chief Medical Officer’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung on May 8. During a brief programme, Thsuvisie Phoji, Chairman IRCS Mokokchung and Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung highlighted on the significance of the day. He called upon the members of Red Cross Society to be ready to help people in distress and come together: united for the cost of humanity. Welcome address was delivered by Dr SS Akaba Longchar Honorary Secretary, IRCS Mokokchung and Vote of thanks was said by Dr Kibangkumba, Chief Medical Officer Mokokchung. Red Cross Members from Queen Mary HSS, Mayangnokcha HSS and Govt High School Mokokchung village along with their respective teachers attended the programme.
The Chümoukedima District Branch IRCS celebrated the World Red Cross Day cum installation of Youth Red Cross (YRC) at Patkai Christian College (PCC) with the theme, ‘Keeping Humanity Alive’ on May 8. The installation of YRC was administered by Vichutuolie Mere Chairman IRCS Chümoukedima District Branch. Dr Prem Kumar Singh, dean of Science PCC, MCIRCS Chümoukedima District Branch gave the welcome address. The resource person, M Kholie Dolf, MC IRCS Nagaland State Branch encouraged the newly inducted YRC PCC to actively participate and serve the community without any discrimination.
