Immanuel College celebrated its 29th Freshers' Social-cum-Annual Day 2023 under the banner ‘Visualizing Tomorrow's Dreams’ on September 15 at the college premises with Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, Professor Jagadish Kumar Patnaik as the special guest. Putusenla Jamir and Tokev were adjudged for the titles of Miss and Mr Fresher Immanuel College, 2023 respectively.
Patkai Christian College held its Freshers' Social 2023 themed ‘Celebrating Youth’ on September 16. Joel Naga, President of the Regional People's Party (RPP) as special guest reminded the students about the legacy of Patkai community and encouraged freshers to aspire to make a meaningful impact in the state and country. Songaror Horam and Tshoteü Khutso emerged as the winners of Mr and Miss Patkai title respectively. Seisanglen Hengna and Khawungla Shanglai were declared the Runners-Up in the run for the title.Jubilee Memorial College in collaboration with IQAC, Red Ribbon Club and Health and Wellness Club of JMC organized an awareness program on menstrual hygiene on September 16 at the college premises. The resource persons were Dr Maongkala (Medical Officer) and Dr Temjensangla Pongener (Associate Professor, FAC) Department of Geography.Livingstone Foundation International College’s Department of Commerce organized a field trip to Poilwa Sheep Farm, located under Peren district on September 16. A total of 13 students along with 4 faculty members went for a trip. The primary objective behind this educational outing was to provide students with practical insights into animal farming and to explore the farm’s potential as a tourist attraction.An awareness programme on HIV/AIDS and Blood Donation was organized by the Red Ribbon Committee, Pfutsero Government College on September 16 with Dr Vepfuhu Kezo, MD (General Medicine), Medical Officer, CHC Pfutsero as the resource speaker. Under the initiation of Physics Department, all the Science students of Sao Chang College, Tuensang, Nagaland, commemorated World Ozone Day on September 16 in the college compound. During the programme a One Act Play on theme ‘Montreal Protocol: fixing the ozone layer and reducing climate change’ was performed by all the science students. Tetso College welcomed its newest batch of students with a Freshers Day on September 16 with Professor Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, as the special guest. Akiwoto Zhimomi (BA 1st Semester, Political Science Honours) was crowned Mister Fresher 2023, while Liilo Zhimomi (BA 1st Semester, Political Science Honours) was crowned Miss Fresher 2023. World Ozone Day was celebrated today under the aegis of Ura Zuveh Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India at Netaji Camp Site, Chesezu Village, Phek. Altogether, 221 students and teachers attended the programme and took part in a walk for ozone awareness.
