Medozhatuo Rutsa, President, Nagaland Motorcycle Club handing over memento to Tenyenilo Thong, Administrator, Jo Foundation Inclusive School, Agri Colony Kohima on the occasion of Independence Day celebration. Over eleven bikers ‘CHIEF’ from the club visited the school.
 
In commemoration of 72nd Independence Day, village community property cleaning programme was initiated by SSL Basket Club of Phaipijang Village, Dimapur in collaboration with Kuki Christian Khangthah (KCK), Phaipijang Youth and Students’ Union (PYSU), Kuki Nute Kiloikhom Phaipijang (KNK) and Village Level Organisation (VLO).
 
Dimapur Bengali Students’ Union observed the 72nd Independence Day of India at Dayanand Vidya Niketan ST Boys Hostel, Purana Bazar, Dimapur. The occasion was graced by Lipok Pongen, Vice President of NDPP as special guest who unfurled the national flag. The celebration was dotted with a number of cultural performances.
 
Lion’s Club of Kohima visited Orphanage and Destitute Home, Kohima on account of Independence Day and held an interaction programme with the inmates. The programme was chaired by President Lion’s Club of Kohima, Er. Aroba and the team donated food grains, fresh meat and edibles.
 
On the eve of the 72th Independence Day 2018, the Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima (GPPK) along with GBs and Executives of the Gorkha NGOs visited Differently Abled Children of Cherry Blossom, Lerie Kohima. The visiting team interacted with the school administration and donated stand fan, stationery and eatables.
 
Dimapur based group, Mercy Society under the initiative of NDPP Women Organisation, Dimapur region, distributed rice freely to widows at Medziphema from August 15 from 17 under the guidance of the NDPP Women Organisation, 5 Ghaspani-II A/C. Arround 30 beneficiaries availed the rice.
 
Cadets of National Cadet Corps during the Independence Day celebration at the Nagaland Secretariat, Kohima participated in the march past. The NCC contingent comprised of Girls and Boys Cadets from 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC and 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC (Boys).
 
Members of Nagaland Bhojpure Samaj celebrated Independence Day at their office by hoisting the National Flag. Later, they visited Dimapur Civil Hospital distributed edibles to the patients, families and hospital staff under the chairmanship of Ravi Gupta and Krishna Kr. Rai.
 
Vivekananda Welfare Foundation Dimapur in collaboration with DMC celebrated Independence Day by distributing 300 food packets to the patients, attendants and staff at CIHSR Dimapur and also to the security personnel at the Dimapur Airport. At a solemn function held at the CIHSR premises, the foundation also handed over a cheque for Rs.35000/- to Dr. Momin, Superintendent, CIHSR, Dimapur to Ashim Saha (uncle of Pinaki Saha) in the presence of other doctors and gathering for the treatment of Pinaki Saha who is admitted to Global Hospital, Chennai awaiting liver transplantation.
 
Sainik School Punglwa celebrated the 72nd Independence Day in the school premises with the unfurling of the National flag by the chief guest, Gp Capt Sharad R Keskar, Principal of the school.
