Kohima, September 3 (MExN): In view of the partial restoration of the affected stretch of National Highway-2 near Phesama, the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima has issued a detailed traffic advisory regulating the movement of vehicles along the Kohima–Mao route.
According to the advisory, the movement of light motor vehicles (LMVs) has been permitted with immediate effect, while other vehicles are allowed under certain conditions.
However, traffic shall remain suspended between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on all days to allow restoration and balance works to continue, it stated.
In the event of heavy rainfall, traffic movement along the affected portion will be suspended entirely due to the risk of landslides, it added.
Accordingly, the alternative route from Phesama–Kisama/Kigwema via Rhododendron Resort will remain open.
