Nagaland: Nomination papers of all 3 Lok Sabha candidates found valid

KOHIMA, MARCH 28 (MExN): Scrutiny of nomination papers filed by candidates for the Lok Sabha Election 2024 from Nagaland State was carried out by the Commissioner Nagaland & Returning Officer, Sushil Kumar Patel in the presence of General Observers P Ramesh and Avinash Champawat on March 28.

The State DIPR informed that the nomination papers of candidates namely Dr Chumben Murry from National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Supongmeren Jamir from Congress (INC) and Hayithung Tungoe Lotha, Independent (IND) were found to be in order and accepted as per the electoral guidelines and eligibility criteria issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI). 

Meanwhile, Congress substitute candidate nomination paper was rejected as the main candidate nomination papers were found in order. NDPP candidate Dr Murry, IND candidate Lotha and representative of INC candidate Jamir witnessed the scrutiny proceedings further bolstering transparency and accountability for a free, fair and transparent electoral process, the DIPR added.
