Nagaland NRE advisor advocates judicious extraction, use of resources and minerals

Nagaland New and Renewable Energy (NRE) & NSDMA Advisor, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe asserted that the resources and minerals in Nagaland state are to be extracted and used judiciously.

Participating in the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the Governor’s Address at the sixth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, (NLA) here on Tuesday, Nyuthe said “The government’s decision to extract the minerals is highly appreciated and this will boost the state economy once successful.”

Nyuthe said that the consultative meeting held on 12th September 2024 with all the civil society organisations and political parties shows the sincere concern of the government in regard to Naga Political Issue.

“This should be appreciated by everyone, and all should come with sincerity without any reservation,” he said.

He said that the MOVCDNER (Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region) has brought direct contact with companies which has greatly encouraged the state organic farmers and enhance their income by way of selling their organic productions to the companies.

Roads are the lifeline for overall development, and the various government projects like PMGSY, NESIDS (Roads), CRF are noteworthy, he said and made a special mention of the two-lane road from Kohima to Jessami, Jessami to Akhegwo and Akhegwo to Avakhung (Myanmar boundary) which has brought communication easier to the villages touching the road and nearby villages, and also the far-flung interior villages of Meluri district.

Stating that children are the future for tomorrow, Nyuthe said “it should be inclusive of all children, whether they are privileged/down-trodden/children with special need.”

Under Mission Vatsalya, government has set-up 44 childcare institutions for the under-privilege and vulnerable children and also provides sponsorship to these children which indicate government deep concerns for the children and future, the Advisor said.

He maintained that the successful conduct of exams by Nagaland Public Service Commission and Nagaland Staff Selection Board in the successive years with meritocracy “is the milestone achievement of the government.”

Now, Naga youths are fully charged with the spirit of competitive in every field, he said adding “this in return will greatly improve the work culture of the Nagas.”

He said that the creation of Meluri district was a milestone achievement of the government as it has fulfilled the long cherished dream of the Pochury Nagas.

“This has also brought equality and justice to all the Naga tribes for their contributions towards the creation of Nagaland state,” he said and expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to Chief Minister and Leader of the House Dr Neiphiu Rio and all the members of the 14th House of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
