Dimapur, February 28 (MExN): The Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town (NTUCT) on Friday served an ultimatum on the Director General of Police, Nagaland, as it reiterated its stand on the alleged illegal appointments in the Police Department.
In a press release, NTUCT President Lhousito Khro referred to an RTI reply received on February 24 where “the department has stated that the non-advertised posts recruited from the Districts DEF include years of accumulated back log vacancies,” and asserted that backlog or latest vacancies, the fact that there was no advertisement for general recruitment, is the issue.
Unless all the vacancies are advertised, the Union will not relent or compromise with options and assertions made by the Department, the statement read.
Further, the Union urged the Director General of Police to cancel all the appointments except the 208 advertised posts and conduct general recruitment for 934 posts including the 400 remaining vacancies as admitted by the Deputy Chief Minister in the recent concluded Assembly. Otherwise, NTUCT has no option but to take its own course of action, it stated.
