Nagaland: NUN urges government to reconsider decision on LFA

Dimapur, October 28 (MExN): The Nagaland Government’s decision to disband the Legislator’s Forum on AIDS (LFA) has invited concerns from various organizations.

Joining the appeal to continue the forum, Nagaland User’s Network (NUN), a network of people who use drugs in Nagaland on Wednesday urged Chief Minister (CM) Neiphiu Rio and his team to reconsider the decision.

Pepe Khamo, NUN President stated that “the LFA has contributed a lot in the fight against HIV/AIDS and that the sudden withdrawal of support has created a gap in the HIV program in the state.”

NUN being the apex body of the drug using community has been in the receiving end when it comes to impact by the void created from the stoppage of this support, the NUN wrote.

It appealed for political leadership and ownership in order to strive for a HIV-free state.
